I cannot praise the quality and standard of the Crocodile Hunter Lodge enough. From the moment you walk into the reception area you are met with quality and excellence. The staff are attentive and go above and beyond. Kim was exceptionally helpful and made sure to touch base with me prior to our arrival. The staff left a lovely note and special birthday badge for our daughter, Parker, who turned 6 on the second day of our stay. The accommodation rooms are exceptional with everything you could possibly need. The Irwin's and their design team have clearly thought hard about putting together a range of inclusions that make you feel like you in a home away from home. All the fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality, including a full-size fridge and dishwasher. I loved the adjustable shower head and the fact that I could move it up and down depending on who was in the shower. The tea and coffee available in the cabins are high quality, including fresh local coffee grounds and a plunger, T2 tea selections, fresh baked brownies on arrival and a generous welcome pack. We had two large umbrellas in the room which proved to be handy as we experienced high precipitation levels during our stay.

All inclusions take into consideration the environment and items are obviously sourced based on their low environmental impact and are supportive of local suppliers and producers. The facilities are simply beautiful. The laundry room was not only free to access, but also clean, inviting and the machines were modern and very efficient. Lounging in or around the pool while watching kangaroos, emus, possums and koalas make their way around their environment is a very unique and special experience. We had breakfast each morning at the Warrior Restaurant and the options were fabulous. We utilised the shuttle bus to go to Australia Zoo each day which also meant that we didn’t have to worry about parking. We had a special birthday dinner at the Warrior Restaurant for Parker’s birthday which was completely divine! All staff at both the Lodge and Australia Zoo who saw Parker’s birthday badge wished her a happy birthday. Alison, who was filling in and drove the shuttle bus on a couple of the days we were there, and also Kim on reception, were sure to mention to the Crocoseum presenters that it was Parker’s birthday and they gave her a shout out in front of the hundreds of visitors at the start of the croc feeding show. Every encounter we had with staff, both at Australia Zoo and at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, was positive and friendly. A small, but fun activity that got our daughter really engaged at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, was the Wildlife Warrior checklist.

My daughter is a massive fan of Robert Irwin and has written him letters of adoration and received responses, which she has been so excited to receive. We discussed at length that although we were going to Australia Zoo and staying at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, we had no guarantee of seeing any of the Irwin’s in the flesh and up close, other than in the Crocoseum at the croc feeding shows. However, the absolute cherry on top of the freshly iced cake, was, by all manner of chance, bumping into the man himself, Robert Irwin and his lovely Mum, Terri, at the front of the Lodge on one of the mornings we were heading to Australia Zoo on the shuttle. My daughter was speechless, and we were lucky enough to have a photo and a short chat. It was certainly a highlight of our stay! Both Robert and Terri wished Parker a happy birthday for the day prior, which honestly made her day. Robert even gave Parker some tips when we asked him a couple of questions about animals that we had been unable to find on the Wildlife Warrior Checklist.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge as it is an exceptional, luxurious and very special experience. We will...

We just ended a 9 day cruise. Started in Sydney and ended in Brisbane. Just a bit of info, if you hire a taxi or Uber, it will cost over $330 Australian dollars to get to the lodge. The grounds are beautiful. We checked in and was given a ride to our lodge. The interior has a kitchen is fully stocked with items you'll need to cook/eat - refrigerator/freezer, stove top, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, pan, pot, etc. There are bottles of water and THE MOST delicious brownies in your room!! The lodge smells clean (they steam clean the place!), bedding, towels, robes and slippers are crisp and clean. The front porch has a table and chairs to relax in. We walked to to pool and it's gorgeous. It faces a grassy area which has kangaroos and koalas. ||Forewarning, I'm going to use the word delicious a lot in the write up because it is!!||The cocktail drinks are beyond delicious! The coffee cocktail (can't remember the name) tasted like coffee ice cream. The cosmo tastes a bit different but is also delicious! Breakfast is included with the room. Not a buffet but order from their menu. The coffee drinks are delicious. It comes with a chocolate crocodile to either eat or mix it in your coffee. Great job on the espresso drinks! Fresh squeezed juices - made at the time you order it! The portions aren't tiny. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs and fruit. Both delicious! Fruit is very sweet. The large breakfast is HUGE! 2 eggs, large slice of sourdough toast, bacon, ham, sausage, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes. Also.... delicious! Had the rice porridge - on the 2nd page at the top - rice porridge with edamame, chicken broth, black sesame, nori and a side of spicy chili oil. This is one of the downers on the food. It was too salty. It was tough to eat this. We found a few dishes a bit too salty - Rendang beef at dinner, mushrooms at breakfast, barramundi at dinner and the porridge. We were wondering if the chef tasted it because it was REALLY salty. The rice was a bit under cooked. The middle of the grain was a bit crunchy. Make sure you order the chips/fries. We ordered them at least 3 times during our stay. The vanilla ice cream with caramel is yes... the D word again. I had that 3 times. The caramel isn't sweet, more browned/toasted flavor. I LOVED IT!! The peanut butter dessert is delish too!||The laundry room is near the pool. Detergent and dryer sheets are available free of cost. ||The shuttle to and from the zoo is so convenient. ||Suggestions. Rent a car to drive. We didn't so our only choice was to eat at the restaurant. There isn't anywhere, in walking distance, to pick up snacks or drinks. You can call an Uber but it's not consistent. It's not a late night town so check the hours.||I would definitely stay here again. The service is amazing - Thank you KIM!!! She helped us sooo much!! Everyone here is friendly and helpful. ||The last day we saw the entire Irwin family walk in to eat at the restaurant! ||We saw Robert a couple of times and he always had a great big smile and a...

I'm not sure where to start, I've just spent two nights and three days staying at this truly amazing lodge, and I can safely say that out of every single place I have stayed around the world, this is by far the the best. From the second we arrived and walked into reception we were made to feel like we were the most special and most welcome people on the planet. |The Lodge itself was just perfect, every single item in it was top quality, even down to the kettle, which had multiple program's for every type of hot drink imaginable. The place was spotlessly clean, and I really do mean spotless. The furnishings and the beds were so comfortable, the wife and I both said we could happily live there, it was that good.||The surroundings were just stunning, beautifully laid out with an abundance of trees and plants. For me, the best part was getting up in the morning, and finding a wild Kangaroo sat literally at the bottom of the steps. I'm a smoker, your not allowed to smoke on any part of the grounds, but that didn't bother me in the slightest, the walk down to the gate was amazing, the different types of birds and animal life was just amazing. The area behind the reception and restaurant has a large infinity pool that overlooks a large paddock with Emu's, Kangaroo's and Koala's in it.||On both nights, and both breakfasts, we chose to eat in the "Warrior" restaurant, which is attached to reception and just off the terrace from the infinity pool. The food was just out of this world! I rarely eat in hotels or lodges, but the menu and quality of the food is absolutely top notch, and I can highly recommend that you eat here if you decide to stay here.||Now I come to the real jewel in the crown of this property.... it's staff. From the management to the cleaner, I have never come across such friendly, professional and welcoming people, they truly made you feel like part of the family and I truly can't thank each and every one of them for everything they did for us.||Overall, I can't recommend this stunning Lodge enough, if you get a chance, then staying here is an absolute MUST.||Thank you "Crocodile hunter Lodge " for memories that will life with us...

Staying at the lodge was the best way to visit Australia Zoo. We got the 3 nights for 2 deal from 11 to 14 December and it was fully worth it. Eliza and Kim took great care of us, as did the rest of the lovely team. The restaurant staff and drivers were so helpful and nice. The cabin was modern, clean and comfortable. We stayed in the black cockatoo cabin for 4 people, which was perfectly comfortable for our group of 3. There were all the amenities you could ask for--robes, slippers, towels, soaps, coffee, tea, water, milk, free wifi and even a welcome cake. We also got a welcome gift bag on arrival, which came with a voucher for a Robert Irwin photo canvas. We loved the setup of the cabins to the pool, roo enclosure, restaurant and reception/gift shop. It was great eating/swimming while watching the roos and emus, though a bird tried to take our food while we were distracted, which was funny. The shuttle was free and available any time between Beerwah Station, the lodge and the zoo. They basically led us by the hand to the zoo counter so we always felt well looked after. It was so convenient (only 5 minutes to either), I can't imagine going to the zoo from somewhere else. Three days was the perfect amount of time to see the whole zoo, which was incredible, and we were lucky to see the Irwins on the 12th and 13th at the original croc enclosure while the main enclosure was being renovated. Free breakfast at the Warrior restaurant was a great way to start each day, and they had great choices, even the kids menu. Dining at the restaurant was a bit pricey for the portions but since the crab came from Fraser Island we cut our losses and splurged for one night and it tasted great. I would highly recommend staying at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge if you're visiting Australia zoo. With the 3 night for 2 deal, it basically paid for itself, and the convenience and service made the whole trip so comfortable.

A truly TOP quality experience. Everything about The Crocodile Hunter Lodge oozes effortless quality. Pre check in the reception team were in contact with me to ensure they were ready for my visit and they pre booked a table in the restaurant and other services for me. On arrival everything about the premises was cool contemporary and effortless. The location is superb and the fact there is wild life everywhere is a real bonus. The reception team were super friendly and Kim went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for our visit and also gave great local advice about travel and services after we left the lodge. The infinity pool and patio area at the back of the lodge is awesome with Emu, Kangaroos and Koalas to keep you company whilst you swim or sip drinks. The restaurant and breakfast room have very friendly staff and offer a wide range of high quality delicious foods with a good wine list. The guest rooms were very modern with natural elements added in key places. There was great lighting and AC if required. They were really well appointed with lots of nice touches like Irwin artwork, tasty treats on arrival, Irwin books and literature, excellent range of teas and coffees in the room, a good range of bath products including a snazzy Dyson hairdryer for my wife. There is plenty of parking at your room or in the main lodge car park. TOP TIP - If you're staying here you are probably going to visit Australia Zoo. Your visit to the lodge allows you access to the Zoo on the day you check in and also the day you check out. You can easily park your car for free at the lodges main reception before you formally check in and take the free shuttle bus that goes the short distance between the lodge and the zoo all day. This maximises your time at the zoo and your time at the lodge allowing you the best of both experiences.
