We’ve been to the warrior restaurant several times and always enjoyed the venue. We booked the restaurant for NYE as they advertised “what better way to ring in the new year than with magnificent views surrounded by bushland, teaming with native wildlife, live music and dance”. We made reservations and prepaid for a set menu.
We booked for 9pm on expecting to be enjoying the music and dancing through midnight. The music stopped at 10 and there was no dancing. Or music you could dance too.
When we arrived we ordered cocktails to start and specifically asked for the cocktails before the food service and also the wine pairing with the meal. Two of our party asked if they had a substitute for the oysters on the set menu and were told no substitutes.
The first dish arrived before the cocktails and we politely again let them know that we really wanted to enjoy the cocktails before dinner. It was an uncomfortable start and they didn’t know whether to take the plates away and bring them back, but in the end, they left them and we waited probably another 10 minutes for our cocktails and tried to enjoy them before eating although the staff repeatedly tried to clean our uneaten plates for the next service. Meanwhile the wine pairing had also been poured and the start to the meal was just uncomfortable and uncoordinated.
When we made the reservations it didn’t list the set menu and it had two raw dishes to start, tartare and oysters. Honestly I like both, but not everyone does and I think two raw dishes in a set menu is overkill when you can’t substitute. The oysters were served warm too, which, is a first for me.
Most of the food was good but unfortunately they had run out of desserts and so they substituted crème brûlée’s which were actually inedible. Ironic that we couldn’t substitute but they had no issue with substitution.
We spoke to the servers several times about the issues and they listened, were empathetic, gave us 10% off and some gift certificates for a future meal.
The staff tried hard, yet we were the last group to leave and a manager never stopped by, the night was misrepresented as we certainly didn’t dance in the new year.
We love the venue, have generally enjoyed the food, but this NYE event was not the experience advertised and honestly an embarrassment for us as hosts to our family from...
Read moreA great opportunity to be amazing, unfortunately the experience we had was not. When eating in a “world class” restaurant I would expect the chef to be able to cater for dietary needs. We had vegans with us who had to eat animal based products as there was t an alternative option, which ended up with one guest being sick. We had a large group staying at the lodge and went to dinner at the restaurant. To make this brief the menu did not have enough options, portion sizes were far to small for the price and the chef was unable to accommodate dietary needs of the customers. I asked for the childrens Mac and cheese $18, to be served as plain macaroni with the cheese sauce on the side, the response I got was that it comes pre mixed and the chef can’t fulfill my request… what??? It’s Mac and cheese for goodness sake. For breakfast I asked for hard poached eggs, they arrived very soft so I sent them back, the second time they came to the table they weren’t any better, still runny. World class?? I think not. The service was very friendly but unfortunately extremely slow. We spent over $750 on dinner and if drinks had have come out quicker we would have stayed longer, the service staff need training on the basics like always using a tray to serve a drink, I never want to be handed a drink, I want to be served. The second day we had breakfast was just as slow but the food was a better. Unfortunately we were not informed of the “rules” when ordering to use the included breakfast which meant half way though our meal the wait staff advised us we would have to pay for certain things as the items we ordered weren’t included. That left us with an unpleasant feeling, one I won’t forget. When paying crazy amounts for a 2 day stay I would t think a $13 drink would be worth making a guest feel like they...
Read moreWe had been eagerly anticipating our visit to Warrior Restaurant in Beerwah, saving it for a special occasion, but unfortunately, it ended up being a regrettable choice. The experience left much to be desired on several fronts.Despite the abundance of staff present, we found it challenging to get their attention on two separate occasions just to order drinks. The service was inattentive and slow, a stark contrast to the number of employees available. As a vegetarian, options were extremely limited with only one dish available. To make matters worse, the tofu appeared like it had just been removed from the packet and was served cold and in the middle of winter, indicating a lack of thoughtfulness in their seasonal menu planning. When we brought this to the staff's attention, they acknowledged the issue and it sounded like it wasn't the first time it had been brought to their attention. They reassured us it would change, but this did nothing to rectify the disappointing meal I was served and later had to pay for.The overall atmosphere suggested that the staff were eager to end their shift rather than ensure a pleasant dining experience for their guests. It was telling that we, the last guests, were leaving by 8:45 pm on a Saturday night—hardly the sign of a thriving restaurant. The average food selection and the general sense of disinterest from the staff made for a disappointing evening. We hope this feedback is taken seriously and make the necessary improvements for...
