Only stayed here for 1 night due to a tight schedule on Tasmania. I must say i wish we had stayed longer.
We booked the Bushmans Hut, which sleeps 2/3 people.
We notified the owners we would arrive after the latest 5pm check in and the key to our lodge was left at reception. All details about where the key would be left and instructions on how to find the lodge and where to park were spot on.
On picking up the key from reception a Wombat wandered past ( we presumed this was the local out of hours welcoming committee)
It was a cold, very wet and windy day and owners had left the fire on in the lodge for us which was fantastic as it was nice and toasty in there for our arrival.
The Lodge itself is fairly basic as you'd expect but includes all the things you'd want - Kitchen - All appliances ( Oven, Microwave, Hob, fridge, sink etc) Utensils included as well as plates/bowls and pots/pans Tea Towel and Oven Gloves
Lounge area - Sofa Table and Chairs TV and Dvd Player Gas Fire
Bathroom - Shower Toilet Wash Basin Clothes Maiden as well if you need to dry clothes. Towels and bodywash
Beds with in a bunk bed layout with a double bed below and single on top. Bed was very comfortable.
Lodge itself was very clean with no insects or unwanted guests inside, which considering its location was fantastic. The owners seem to really care for and look after the cabins.
If we are ever on Tasmania again i can honestly say we would definitely stay here again!

Read moreAfter significant illness I needed to get some R&R so my hubby and I visited Tasmania and after scrolling through hundreds of reviews on Trip Advisor etc, we decided to spend a night at the Cradle Highlander in their gorgeous Lanceolata Cabin (we wanted a wood-burning fireplace).
Our first impression were the hosts and we felt confident in our choice from that moment. :) Jay and the other host (I'm so sorry her name escapes me) were incredibly lovely, attentive and helpful from booking on the phone to checking in and providing helpful information regarding the place and their gorgeous wines in their office (from local vineyards; of which we did select one), as well as ensuring every need was met.
The cabin was extremely clean - probably the cleanest cabin or hotel room (including four star stays) we have experienced in quite awhile and every little thoughtful thing was provided - even tips about the kindling and use of the wood fire, a warm bed (and with electric blankets although despite the chill outside we did not need them).
The cabin had a walking trail that we enjoyed and were only a five-ten minute walk across the road from the visitor information centre where there are shuttle buses that take one to the local lake etc too. Also a few different places to eat at if desired.
We found the self-contained kitchen had all we needed and enjoyed that amazing bottle of wine with some local cheeses we had purchased along our trip and enjoyed watching a dvd and relaxing by the fire.
We will definitely return and have already raved about our stay to friends...
