Wake up 2minutes walk from this? What more can I say?
Wrens and Bandicoots hopping around you as you relax with a cold drink by the pot belly fireplaces. Wood can be bought from the reception for $15 for a big bag.
Ok so how does it all unfold? On the way we recieve texts giving us information about check in and the boom gate. I arrived a bit late, but the owner of the park was close by and personally greets us and says to me , "are you Bradley?". Impressive that he remembers the names of his bookings and who hasn't arrived yet. And he is so friendly.
Book in was easy. A breeze. Then we drive to our Glamping tent. It's beautifully nestled up against the native trees and brush. The tents are kind of close to each other but far enough to be comfortable. We stayed in the two room glamping tent.
It has a pot-belly wood burner, a small deck with BBQ and dining table. Walking inside there is a double bed. The bed is quite firm. But its also glamping so deal with it. There is an espressotoria coffee machine (note nespresso pods don't fit this, a sink microwave toaster and kettle. A small TV (which you shouldn't by using!). Next room is 4 beds (2 bunks). Final room is a bathroom with shower sink and toilet. The shower head is quite low and suits shorter people better, but again you're glamping thr shower should be quick!
The room was tidy and smelled extremely clean. The bedsheets and mattresses were all clean. Everything looked well maintained. My only gripe Waa that you could tell the cups and plates hadn't been used in a while, but you're washing them before using them anyway unless you're insane.
The key to this experience is the area it unlocks for you. The native coastline. The beach. The wildlife. The birds. There was a pair of wrens around our site. A male and female. 🐦
Come and stay. Slow down. Connect with nature. The accommodation is a vehicle to facilitate your connection to this beautiful place. Enjoy waking up to the sounds of birds and...
Read moreScamander Sanctuary Holiday Park was an absolutely amazing experience. My partner (M28) and I (F25) stayed one night in the Glamping Tent. I am a big fan of camping, but wanted to introduce my partner to camping for the first time; as such, we settled on glamping.
The tent itself was absolutely gorgeous and ridiculously spacious. There was enough room for a large bed; a couch; a hanging stand; an aircon; a cupboard with a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, kitchen essentials, and a TV; a table and chair set for two; and a bin. It was so comfy and glamorous.
One thing about camping that I HATE is the bathroom situation; I worry about cleanliness and creepy crawlies while trying to go to the bathroom or shower. The bathrooms here are AWESOME and made the stay so much more comfortable and home-like.
We checked in during operating hours; but checked out early. The process for both is very easy with a lockbox outside the reception, and pretty comms through the company itself prior to your stay.
From our experience, the location is a bit far from restaurants and activities - par the beach - but that is Scamander. The closest is St Helens which has all you can need for a short 15 min drive. We parked right outside our tent too, for those coming with a car.
Our only problem is that we didn't stay long enough! Next time will definitely be more...
Read moreIf you want to support a young guy going in head first to make something of himself, then choose here. It's a one man show here and from the moment I walked through the door of reception I was greeted with a big hello and smile. I knew I was at a good place then. I camped in my Van here, but having access to the toilets and hot showers were amazing, they were genuinely one of the cleanest shower blocks I've seen in my travels. You can have fires here in a fire Pot, I didn't have a pot but old mate went out of his way and found one for me over the course of the afternoon. They also sell firewood here on site too if you run low or have none. There is also BBQ facilities and tables around the grounds too. $20 a night (at the time of posting) I found was very cheap with all the facilities offered. I'd without a doubt pay more knowing how good it is and the service.
All in all I definitely recommend this place, and when I come back along the east coast...
