We stayed here 2 nights so we could explore the area as well as Stanley. Our room was a king spa suite. The bed was really uncomfortable. Rooms are only cleaned - we don't know when - as we had to leave the towels outside for fresh ones and although we got fresh towels our room was not made up. They have a happy hour at their bar but it goes from 5-6pm. Interestingly you have a drive to any food so potentially a DUI in the making. Wifi was in and out. Coffee and tea making facilities along with a fridge and toaster. Plates and cutlery are also in the room. Another issue is the shower is in the spa so the step into and out of the shower is fraught with a potential slip and fall. We only met one staff member when we checked in and she was nice...

The accommodation was o.k. needs updating in some areas. We booked a 2 bedroom chalet for 4 adults but it only had 3 lounge seats which were old and worn. The smoke alarms are old and non compliant. The pipes rattle and bang and you can hear other rooms flush a toilet or shower. The rooms are light up light a Christmas tree at night so not much sleep. The beds are hard and it feels like you were sleeping on a board. The 1st reception lady ( American accent)a little rude but the second one was nice. The plates were dirty upon entry and we had to clean them before using them. Items missing from mini bar so maybe a good idea to check so you don't get charged for things that you didn't take but...

This place rates well in all departments: value for money, delightful young lady at reception, location re proximity to town and to its most-visited tourist attraction (The Nut - look it up!), beautiful rural setting and spacious feel-good rooms. Particularly appreciated 2 special touches: gorgeous Penguin soft toy (looked like it was surfing the bed) and loaf of sliced bread accompanying toaster in room.

Fantastic warm charming welcome from our hostess Lisa. Lovely comfortable room with a fantastic view of Stanley and the nut. Stocked mini bar, coffee machine, laundry facilities. We borrowed infra red torches and were lucky enough to see the little (fairy) penguins 🐧 😀. And a charming little afternoon bar and hot chocolate. Love this place. No flash was used for this picture.

Well luckily we had booked prior to our holiday as there was a local festival on. Unfortunatly we missed it due to our late arrival, glad we made it. The original room booked had heaps of stairs but hubby was able to change our room. Stanley put on rain and wind but the room gave us comfort and quality compared to some on our trip especially st Helens from the night before.
