My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Walhalla Star Hotel during the Melbourne Cup long weekend, and our experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless, and the hosts warmly guided us to our room. We were immediately impressed by the coziness and cleanliness of our accommodation. The room provided a comfortable retreat, and we felt right at home. Dinner at 6:30 pm was a culinary highlight. We indulged in the delicious salmon and duck dishes, which were absolutely delightful. The perfect ending to our meal was a heavenly dessert featuring pavlova and pudding, leaving us craving more. One unique aspect that added to the charm of our stay was the presence of two adorable dogs, Rupert and Tilly. They were friendly and enjoyed belly and ear scratches, adding an extra layer of warmth to the overall experience. In conclusion, our time at Walhalla Star Hotel was highly enjoyable. The quaint town, combined with the exceptional service and delightful dining experience, made our stay memorable. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Kudos to the team for maintaining such a wonderful establishment! Keep up the awesome work.

On a new tradition, 3 brothers took to ride to walhalla for a retreat from reality. Engorged in beautiful scenery, we chose the Star Hotel for our accommodation for its overview of the town and prime location. We were met with friendly and knowledgeable staff, who also offered us to put our 3 motorcycles in the secure yard. Included with our accommodation was dinner and Breakfast. Whilst there was no Bacon&Eggs, it was still a certain win as it meant we did not have to concern ourselves with packing food. The room was well lit and comfortable with ample bedding and maintained well. However, the balcony overseen the rear of the building, not the front, as some might imagine. This was absolutely awesome, though, as there is so much history within the rear of the building, just ask your host. Will definitely return next year for yet another adventure.

What an amazing stay we had. From the time we walked into the reception area, I knew we were in for a great stay. With a seamless check in then a guided tour to all facilities then to our room. Everything was just right with a library/sitting room with a super toasty wood heater that was just perfect for a sipping a wine or even just to read a book. The dining area was also amazing with a well played out area. Our booking included a set menu which was two course’s. Which was a lamb and rosemary pie and a berry panna cotta. Which was delicious. After our dinner we met Rupert and Tilly, the resident Golden Retriever’s. Which were so relaxed and wouldn’t say no to a pat and chin scratch. A massive thank you to Michael and Russell who were just awesome. Definitely didn’t disappoint.

We recently enjoyed a delightful stay for my dad's birthday, and I can confidently say that the experience and accommodations exceeded any 5-star rating I could give. ||We reserved two rooms, and the owners made sure that all the amenities were conveniently located to cater to my parents' needs as they are no longer spry youngsters. Michael and Russell, the owners, are incredibly welcoming and always eager to chat. They even went above and beyond by bringing out our dessert with a candle to make my dad feel extra special on his special day. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for these wonderful hosts, as they strive to ensure your stay aligns perfectly with your expectations—a rarity in today’s hospitality industry .||The atmosphere of this place is wonderfully cozy, instantly making you feel at home. Our rooms were inviting, complete with comfortable beds and fresh linens. The view from the balcony was simply stunning, offering a panoramic view of Main Street along with its historic structures and beautiful natural surroundings.||Dinner was scrumptious, and the breakfast spread in the morning was impressive, featuring a wide variety of delectable options to satisfy any palate. An added treat was the charming and playful dogs, Tilly and Rupert, who brought an extra layer of joy to our stay.||On top of all this fantastic service and accommodation, the price was incredibly reasonable. As always, our experience was exceptional, and we look forward to returning for another visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this outstanding establishment to anyone looking for a...

Recently stayed two nights at Walhalla's Star Hotel and would happily book it again. Travelling with a couple who also had family history in Walhalla. We stayed at the Star Hotel. The accommodation is in the center of town and is in the style of an old Guest House. Rooms are very clean an large, all with ensuites. In our case both diner and breakfast were included in the price. Which I believe is the norm. Diner was 3 courses. From memory each service, you were offered your choice of 4 entrees, 4 mains & 3 deserts. The food was excellent. The bar worked on the honesty system. A good choice of spirits and wines were available, at reasonable prices. It was very good. Breakfast offered a good range of juices, cereals and baked goods. Along with teas and coffee options. It was more than adequate. Lunch was not offered, however, the food in the cafes and Wally's Pub was good, also. The Hosts of the Star Hotel have an excellent business model here and the guest house feel adds to the old world charm to the experience of the town. One other type, despite the population of Walhalla reportedly being very small, everyone is an amateur historian. If you have any history in the area, most people will go out of their way to answer or research questions for you. Including the Hosts of the Star Hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it. Looking forward to a...
