Me and my brother stayed at the end of June for 2 nights half board. ||The hotel itself smelt really clean and very fresh. ||The rooms were clean but much smaller than expected. We asked for two single beds but we received a double room. ||The food was pretty tasteless and not a very big variety. I did end up going hungry. ||There is a nice pathway from the garden into Bad Aussee. It is a very steep climb back up though. ||Our first night staying here at Midnight a coach load of kids turned up having a party in the car park. They were not staying at the hotel but kept us up till 2am. This was a very disturbed night. ||The staff were not very friendly. It did seem to be an inconvenience to be working for them. ||The sauna we didn’t bother using as you would have to wait 30 minutes for it to warm up. You still have to pay in your total which was not aware to us until paying in person even if you don’t wish to use it. ||If you are staying on one of the top floors it can be very difficult taking all your luggage upstairs as there is no lift. ||The toilets in our bedrooms didn’t flush properly and there was constant trickling sound of water all night. ||If you would like to play table pool it is 2 Euros a game. ||There are 2 rooms to eat Breakfast/Dinner. All the guests were shut out of the 2nd room with the big windows with the nice views. We weren’t sure why. ||Minimal parking as they like to leave the car park for the coaches who come in and out. ||We probably wouldn’t choose this hotel if we were staying in the area again. ||Please don’t compare this review to JUFA hotel Grundlsee. I would travel 5 miles just to stay in the hotel if...
Read moreWe stayed here after we started looking for hotels near or around Hallstatt and came up with limited options that were affordable. This ended up being PERFECT. The hotel staff was warm and welcoming from first minute to last minute. They gave us advice to attend an amazing festival in town during our stay, advised us the best places to eat or shop, and overall made us feel a home in their town. The beds were comfortable, and rooms were spotless. There is no Air conditioning - but that is standard for hotels in the region (but just reminding those of us from North America who assume this is standard). I was a little skeptical of booking a room in what doubles as a youth hostel. I assumed it meant there would be a lot of noise - but the guests were were of all ages and the hotel was very quiet at all points in the day. They attract more hiking and biking groups looking for well priced accommodations than backpackers (which makes sense - not in a major city or close to a train station). Breakfast was fantastic. I would say you are best to stay here if you have a car - given it's location. It was about 25 minutes to Hallstatt - perfect day trip. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone...
Read moreHorrible room and Night. We have been on a 7 hours trail and were Looking forward to a good dinner and Night of sleep. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out that Way. Dinner didn’t taste of Anything though was the salat fine, but not enought. The room was a horrible. Located in the basement, one Window where people where sitting right outside talking and smoking all Night. Since it was a warm Night around 27 degress we could choose to close the window to get som sleep or keeping the window Open and get some ‘smile’ Air and a lot of talking. We choose to close the window. The result was that I, who never have had any problems with anxiety woke up with a reaction like that:pannicking and crying Since it was so claustrofobic in the room. Horrible!!!I would have slept better in a tent than this place. People working at the place is friendly though. Now we look forward to sleep at another and hopefully better place tonight. We asked for another roomie but unfortunately it was not possible also getting the information Since we only stay one Night Thats what...
