My opinions about the places I've visited are always harsh, so it will be this time too... So let me start with the fact that I do not like being called a "guest" in hotels, because for the most part I am treated by hotel employees as a customer. As I spend half my life in hotels because of my profession, I would also like to evaluate this hotel... Exactly, this is a question, is this place a typical hotel? Well... definitely no! Was I treated as a customer there? Definitely not, that's where I was a guest, a real guest! After the warm welcoming, Elisabeta, greeted me, took a moment to tell me about the history of this charming place, she showed me around every nook and cranny. It felt like I came to a place that is not a hotel - just something that I can't find name for. Of course, taking into account hotel standards, this place meets them in 120% - it is not subject to discussion at all. The surroundings are just fabulous, I had the opportunity to rent an e-bike to explore the surrounding mountains and forests - great experience. The meals were just perfect, just like your favorite aunt would have served you. Speaking of serving meals - amazing Greta served them - when I had no idea what to order from the menu, I asked her to choose for me the dishes that would be the tastiest in her opinion - her taste is excellent, she was also able to choose a perfect wine for each dish. BTW, about soft drinks, I remembered that the excellent aperitif and beer were served by the bartender Goran. I remember especially the fantastic evening, when the pianist was playing jazz and blues standards and his own interpretations of pop music, amazing evening. On the day of my departure, unfortunately for only 3 days, Elisabeta said goodbye to me in a manner no less kind than the one in which she greeted me. Of course I will come back to this wonderful place, I would definitely like to see it again in summer and winter, I am absolutely infatuated with (forgive me for not using the word hotel) Trattlerhof. I cordially greet your family, all your well-chosen team and thank you for the wonderful...

Read moreAfter 3 visits, I have a mixed experience:||Positives: |1) location next to a charming river, very cute setting, directly on the mountain slope, in nature. Fantastic.|2) excellent and smily service & staff |3) Great spa, clean, spatious, numerous facilities.|4) free charging of electric cars||Negatives: |1) no air conditioning in the rooms. The official reason given is that the hotel is next to a river, 1000m high, so it's fresh in the evening. Well, no : it was 26+ in the room in the morning and if you need to stay for some time in the room, it is not nice. I did not know this was even allowed in a 4* category.|2) Food quality and Hours are aimed at an Austrian audience, not international. Dinner closes at 20.30 (!), and better not come after 19.00 as they pack up everything 1 hour before the end (!). It is not only quite rude to pack up while everyone's eating, it's also not respecting the times. Also for breakfast: supposedly till 11am ; at 9.30am they start packing up and at 10am you need to request as there is no buffet left. Selection and quality also very basic both for Breakfast and Dinner, but there is not many qualitative options in the area anyway.|3) Rather rigid management : despite a beautiful evening and our repeated request, it was not possible to have dinner on the outside (empty) tables just next to the restaurant - you have to stay at your pre-set table in a hot room, even though half the restaurant is empty. ||Note: they have called me since the review and have taken the above points seriously apparently, so the above might have already changed. I might give...
