we had booked this hotel ourselves, not through an agent.||The receptionist on our arrival was the best!! So welcoming, friendly and helpful.||She also drove the mini bus into town on occasions.||Our room was on the third floor at the front of the hotel with balcony. It was a stunning outlook. The bathroom was a tad small but functioned fairly well.||The beds were exceptionally comfortable. ||The food at breakfast was perfect, so much choice and beautifully presented. Sunday breakfast included a glass of champagne!||Evening meal was fine but not exceptional. The main course was somewhat limited, one vegetarian, one fish and one meat. ||The lake is superb for swimming, although my husband was chased (his words) by a very large carp!!!! ||Did find the meal time staring at 18.30 rather early, there was pressure to be there close to that time. As we were not in town one could not wander there after the meal, The shuttled stopped late afternoon.||Do so wish we could have a kettle in bedroom for that early cuppa!!!!||Also would have liked bottles water supplied as often is by hotels. I CANNOT drink some tap waters, so we had to buy in town. As it was very warm we had to get ice from bar frequently for chilled drink... maybe a fridge??? ||Check out was very slow as only one person was on duty for telephone and guests. It was sad we had to ask for the price of a cup of tea to be deleted from our 5 night stay bill! Others were not charged for their cakes and tea.||It would be tempting to stay again but with the early meal time being closer to town has advantages or if the shuttle ran in evening.||The service at meals times was very sluggish as there was a coach party in who did seem to get priority service, it also made it very noisy. Better when...
Read moreLocation - I really liked, a lot of strolls around, lake and silence. We came for the world cup in polo that was happening 3 minutes away from the hotel and to my surprise even the staff didnt know it was happening. The interior design of the hotel is great. However, whoever did the architecture and layout of this hotel I would really like to meet. First, we found out our room is not even in the main building and i am telling you its not great to walk to the spa or breakfast or dinner or anything you need in minus 10C to get it. Even the pool is not adjecent to the spa so you have to enter it from outside and its not a short walk. Again, the spa rooms are well equipped but wherever you go, you rather take your room key with you otherwise you will get stuck. You have to use the room key literally everywhere. The heating wasnt working well in our room and we got sick as the blankets werent warm enough and there werent any extra ones. We ended up heating the room with the sauna the next day. However that wasnt really easy as the room has high ceilings and half of the room is stairs. There was nowhere to sit comfortably in the room apart from two beds. The cosmetics brand is purely my preference, but I would never go for a city brand in such a beautiful countryside in Austria. Food was average. I would welcome some crunchy local fresh bread and higher quality sweet pastry together with coffee. I would really like the service to be more attentive and engaged with the guests so that we dont have to feel like customers but your guests. What was really cool is that you can play curling that belongs to the restaurant next door. Overall, I would be happy if I paid 250 EUR a night...
Read moreWhat a fantastic property, words do not even begin to described. Stayed in the Garden Suite Deluxe in the Lakeside Lodge, really loved the design of the room and the reading nook with view of the lake. Definitely made use of the in-room sauna as well. Bed was exceptionally comfortable, quite soft by European standards. Next time would probably choose a Penthouse as we could hear the people above's dog pacing.||What really sets this property apart is the food service. During your stay you have a reserved table so you just show up and go to your table. You'd really be missing out if you stayed here and did not do half board. For €15/night/person you get a 5-course meal which rotates daily and has a choice of two options for all courses except dessert. Staff was also personable and really made you feel welcome. The breakfast is also quite stunning - they have a bread room AND cheese room with a great selection to fulfill whatever your heart desires. They also have an afternoon coffee and cake service with a wide variety of patisserie to satisfy your post-ski hunger pangs. If that's not enough, there's also a self-service gelato bar that has three flavors that rotate every few days. They also have a lovely bar area with an outdoor patio for the summer months. ||There are also many activities on offer - bike rental, shuttle to the ski area, summer swimming in the lake, etc. I was a little hesitant to book the hotel since it's a little out of town, but I actually preferred this location. Plus you can walk to town quickly. We were already thinking about our next trip before...
