Seehotel am Hallstättersee — Hotel in Obertraun

I think Seehotel am Hallstättersee exceeds my expectations in many ways. It is close to the Obertraun train station, the bus stop to the Salt Mine and the Ice Cave, and the ferry pier from Obertraun to Hallstatt Lahn so I had easy access to the opposite side of the lake.|Though there is no one at the reception before 3 pm, they have arranged a staff interacting with the guests through something like skype. She was able to answer all inquiries and she was very polite and friendly. Luggage can be stored under a shelf opposite the reception counter before check-in and after check-out. There is no lift for guests but there is a lift for luggage so I had no problem sending my luggage (23kg+) to the top floor and meeting it there. |The hotel as a whole and the room are very clean and nicely designed. The bed is comfy so I slept very well. They have buffet breakfast from 7:30-9:30 am offering a good variety of food such as cereals, toasts, hams, cheese, milk, juice, boiled eggs, sausages etc. |Overall, I enjoy my stay here and will recommend it to my friends and family if they...

Positively its near a lake, quiet, lovely views. Room is quite ok, small but it was sufficient for my family. Toilet is good.||||Other than that there is really nothing else great.||||1. If u dont have a car its very inaccessible. If u come by train u need to stop before Hallstat. If u are going to Hallstat by public transport u need to take the train 1 stop and the ferry over. Walking to the ferry would take 20 mins||||2. We drove so we had to park in Hallstat and had to pay the high charges. U cannot drive to the Hallstat train station and take the ferry so my point is the location is not convienent.||||3. Service was very poor at the hotel. Whenever there is a receptionist on duty everything is fine. But Reception desk is not even manned till 3pm. So when i got there at 12 i could not even get info abt the town. Dont even think abt early check in. So many guest throughout the day were left walking up and down the corridors looking for help. ||||My night's stay cost me €200+. This would get me a 5 star hotel anywhere im Austria, Unfortunately this was the best...
