Worst customer service EVER. The restaurant was crowded when we go and since we were not greeted by any of the staff we decided to look for a table to sit ourselves. All the tables outdoor were fully seated but soon we found a table of customers are leaving, and there's this waiter cleaning the table, I walked up to him and ask I can sit at this table and he answered "sure" and just walked away bringing some of the dirty dishes away. We waited for a while for him to return and continue cleaning up the table, but then we saw him started collecting bill from other customers right after that, and our table is only halfway being cleaned. At first I was just waiting patiently as I understand that the restaurant was quite busy that he has other customers to serve, and then we decided to have a sit first while waiting for him. This is when the story happens. First of all he didnt even bother to bring us the menu, and he has been passing by our table a lot of times serving other customers, there was once when he passes by and I tried to ask him politely of he can clean the table for us, and he just replied a HAH! and walked pass our table. What really triggered me was when he started to clean the table behind us after the customers have left, and there was no new customer coming in. At first I thought the restaurant is about to close ( it's around 8:20 and it closes at 9pm) so they no longer taking in new customer. So I turned back and ask him if the restaurant is closed? He said no, with his irritating smiley face. I then ask ' then could you please clean the table for us so that I can start ordering?" And he just replied well because you sit at the table that i am not done cleaning. OH! So we are being ignored by him in purpose just because we sit at the table that he was halfway cleaning?! We maybe wrong about our action but it's our first time here and if he thinks that we ever did anything that offended him he should at least tell us but not by ignoring us the whole time, by not giving us the menus and not cleaning the table for us! We didnt just walk in and sit there, in fact I have asked him if we can sit there, if he doesn't like what we did, he could just inform us to wait until he finish cleaning up the table to sit or whatsoever. As mentioned before the restaurant is busy so we thought it's better to have a sit first as we will be blocking other people's way if we stand beside the table. In the end we got so angry and decided not to have dinner there. What a shame to have a restaurant with nice view but with horrible staff. It that how u treat your customers? I work part-time alone in a small but busy restaurant as well but I dont treat my customers like that! During peak hour there are customers that would come in and sit at the dirty table waiting for me to clean while I was serving other customers. I never ignore them like what he did to us! I never knew that you deserved to get ignored by the waiter by doing so!! I would give 0 stars for this irritating attitude if I could...

The location of this café is undeniably beautiful, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. My husband has celiac disease, so we are always very careful when dining out. Although the menu appeared to list allergens, it was done very selectively.

We asked multiple times whether the Holzfällerbrot was gluten-free, and the waiter confidently assured us that it was. Based on that assurance, we ordered it. After my husband had eaten part of the dish, we realized it wasn’t gluten-free at all. We were later told it was made with a combination of spelt (Dinkel) and rye (Roggen)—both of which contain gluten. This kind of misinformation is not just careless, it’s dangerous.

To make things worse, the waiter’s attitude toward us was shockingly rude and dismissive.

What could have been a lovely experience was completely ruined. When someone has a serious medical condition, honesty and care should be the bare minimum. Sadly, that was not the case here. I hope no one else has to go through such an upsetting and...

Overpriced food. Terrible service

The hotel restaurant across the grass has better priced food and ice cream. Best go there!

I came throught this cafe twice - both times they looked extremely busy even though a ferry had departed (so many people had left) and it's past lunch time and in the mid afternoon. First time I sat at a table but the waiter just ignored me. I went out for a walk thinking they'd be less busy when I returned but no! It was worse. I stood in line at the counter the 2nd time since they seemed too busy to serve anyone not at the counter. After 15 minutes, I finally got to the front of the queue and she refused to serve me - said I needed to sit down at a table and wait for the waiter!! Wouldn't put my order through. How hard is it to grab the strudel from the display and get me an espresso? Best not waste time here and...
