Shocked. So arrived at campsite. Very nice people that run the site who were very helpful with our booking and the need to rearrange it. We emailed in advance with what we required and the size of pitch needed. Not available. The "pitches" are a piece of grass so close to the next camper you can reach out and touch them. Some caravans and campers unable to use awnings as no space. We advised we would not be able to reach the electrics and they didnt care. Turns out we are not the only ones. Electricity and facilities are a joke. Toilets, showers, one block for the whole campsite and they are filthy! Need regular cleaning but gets cleaned once a day!!! Electricity is a joke. People having to connect electricity from hundreds of meters away across pitches and the main roads of the campsites using extension cables galore, however they knew in advance how bad the electricity situation was. We did not. Lots of campers stuck without electrics even though they advised in advance the need for it. We have a 35 foot connection that doesn't reach as only 1 electrical point between at least 15 plots. No managers or anyone to check guests in or out on a Sunday, until after 1pm, yet they allow arrivals and departures all day. People driving around with no-one to check them in and give them their plot. Lastly no wifi not in this part of the camp and no way to plug in wifi booster as no electrics. Sorry, camping Aigen but I do not know how you passed any checks for this site or facilities. Never ever stay here or give them any...
Read moreWhat a gem of place to stay, although there are no pitches as such you can park pretty much anywhere the campsite as a welcoming feel tucked away at the foot of the hills with good views
Eva offers a lovely welcome as did her mother and the other staff are very polite, helpful and they create a very good atmosphere around the bar/restaurant
There are decent showers, washing machine, large enough washing up area, and views of the hills where those paragliding often landed in the adjacent field
The campsite is well priced too in comparison to other sites nearby which are often 12€ more per night and don’t except card, here you can pay by cash or card, the bar was open daily (fresh bread available when ordered) and the menu although basic provided decent food, and the restaurant was always busy with campers and local residents creating a good vibe
The star for me those was Eva, who assisted with local maps and routes to the many local attractions which are nearby for easy cycling, great staff and if staying in Salzburg give this campsite a go, I’m sure you won’t be...
Read moreThere are no designated pitches and would appear anyone arriving, even late at night, is allowed in whether or not there is any space. You go out and tents, caravans, cars and motorhomes have appeared covering almost all the grass areas. One morning we saw 3 motorhomes lined up on the edge of the inner access road, presumably they arrived late. I thought booking in advance would guarantee us a pitch but not here. First night there was a thunderstorm and we struggled to find firm enough ground for our motorhome. Luckily next morning another one left and we managed to get into the available space but within a day we were closely surrounded. Not a place to relax if you want any space around you. Apparently this is the best site near Salzburg so I'd hate to try out the others.||On a positive note, staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar basic but a bonus. Toilets clean.||Having been to Salzburg twice before, but not camping, we'd seen and done all the touristy things so it didn't spoil my enjoyment of this...
