I really wanted to like this hotel, but ultimately left with a sour experience.||||The first two days our experience was excellent. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The first day we went to the front desk and ordered a pizza. The staff member on duty asked if we wanted it served in the room or in the restaurant. We said the room and she kindly delivered it to the room.||||The third night we arrived back at the hotel after a long day of sightseeing around 9pm. As the hotel is located in a residential neighborhood there was nothing around other than the restaurant at the hotel. We asked the front desk if we could order a pizza (please note this is the only thing they serve at night), and the staff member on duty coldly told us NO and then said they were not a pizza restaurant. Then she asked us if we were guests of the hotel "do you have room here?". She said the restaurant closed at 9, but then during the same conversation told us the restaurant closed at 10. After asking if there was anything we could get at that late hour she made us a pizza but was very annoyed about it. ||||Further, and this what really disappointed us, she told us we were not allowed to take the pizza to the room as eating in the room was not allowed (even though there is a mini bar and snacks in the room), and we were also not allowed to eat in the restaurant, so we had to eat the pizza in the hallway of the hotel. It was embarrassing and humiliating. ||||Real shame as we were enjoying our stay but this really made us feel...
Read moreBooked 2 weeks in advance for 1 night stay. Two days before checking in, while on the trip through Austria, government has announced lockdown starting from Tuesday. They didn't contact me, I had to ask them if everything is still ok and my little baby would be able to sleep and get back home. Response comes on the check in day, that they are closed (Monday). Good that I've asked myself. Booked another hotel without issues, because lockdown is next day, not on Monday. Then the cancellation process. I had to ask why the status is still Confirmed, and all they responded was the same: the cancellation is free. Okay, I know, but please could you cancel it? No response. I even sent them request to cancel and they didn't react upon it. Contacted Booking Customer service and within an hour got my cancellation. So much unnecessary stress with this hotel, where they should have: informed me in advance of cancellation cancelled promptly without any communication back and forth and doing actually nothing responded faster took us on Monday at the first place, without any cancellation. Seems like they didn't want to work one more day...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel twice in December 2021 and in January 2022.|Our very first visit to Frauenschuh was for a coffee and drinks on a September afternoon. The coffee and cakes were excellent and the service was great so we asked the proprietor about the rooms and they kindly showed us the rooms and we liked what we saw. So for our next visit we booked a room and were very glad we did. The owners are very nice and attentive hosts and our stay was pleasant and relaxing. |The rooms are very clean and well cared for, the service unobtrusive, the location very quiet and peaceful. |The breakfasts are plentiful and served impeccably. The selection of food is wide and everything is fresh, appealing and tasty. Additional nice touch is the view from the breakfast area - windows open up an a nice yard with pretty landscaping with a beautiful backdrop of Alps.
