Weakest aspects:||- very poor chalet hosting. Host seemed to visit deliberately during day once guests had gone skiing. No feedback/ response to issues. Have never come across a ski chalet host who seemed to avoid the guests. She really was awful. ||- no drinks other than wine- never come across a ski chalet that didn't offer soft drink options. One coffee machine broken. one small machine making one small jug of coffee for c30 guests - never much coffee on offer.||- afternoon tea and cake comprised, make your own instant coffee, no milk available wihtout collecting from kitchen, and one biscuit on one day. Never seen anything so meagre after a day on the slopes. So didnt bother going back for tea.||- have a mini spa area. 'hot tub' is bizarre... more of a spa bath for one in a public place - it is not a hot tub. bath robes not available til the Tuesday. think they have onbly one set of robes so they arent available til then come back from laundry.||- wifi only on day 1 then disappeared. Asked them to get sorted- it's a basic need these days and 2 of us t the chalet were trying to work as well as ski. Not sorted all week- said it was fixed as we were catching the coach to leave...they offered use of their ipad as a hotspot but left it for us with a flat battery...||||Good things:||- bedrooms clean and spacious||- not far to walk to lifts||- directly opposite a bar thats good...
Read moreWe got a last minute booking on 30 March for a week in the Chalet Regina with Crystal Ski.||||First the good bits. The chalet was clean and modern with a good ski room. It had two lounges where you could sit. The top floor lounge had tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms were clean and spacious with a good size bath. The chalet is located about 5 mins walk slightly downhill to the Nasserein gondola and ski hire shop. If you're lazy there's a ski bus stop right round the corner to take you to the Nasserein lift and nursery slopes or into St Anton proper. Location was nice and quiet. Best rooms are 4 and 5 on 1st floor and 12 and 13 on second floor all of which are at the back. We did hear reports that the front could be a bit noisy when the keller bar in the hotel opposite kicked out at 3am! The Crystal staff were friendly and helpful.||||And now the not so good bits. The wifi was poor to non existent. Even though we were told the chalet was non smoking it stank of cannabis smoke on several occasions. The food was awful. Not the fault of the kids running the place as it was obvious they had very little training. I've had poor quality food with Crystal before so won't be booking with them again. If I'd paid more than the £500 I got last minute I'd be really annoyed as the food is an important part of the holiday. I'd definitely go back to St Anton (great skiing) but not...
Read moreAfter a faultless visit last year, it was extremely noticeable that standards have slipped dramatically since then. On arrival, it was apparent that our room hadnt been cleaned properly. The floor was dirty, dust everywhere and we even found some broken glass that had been missed. They didnt seem as many chalet staff this year and perhaps this is the reason why cleaning throughout the week and not just in the bedroom seemed to be lacking. Not enough pillow cases in the room and the one supplied when requested didn`t fit the pillow.||They have now stopped serving pre dinner drinks and canapes and after dinner cheeseboard and port. Is this a cost cutting exercise ?||I must say that the quality of food throughout was week was exceptional so a big thank you to the chef.||The property now is need of updating and a thorough cleaning throughout and wifi that works more than just...
