Alpen Resort Schrofenblick — Hotel in Schwendau

Unfortunately booked through sunweb - the facilities itself are basic and nothing to write home about, the service is the real issue - I'm not sure if it's a toxic work environment or not but staff just dont want to be bothered, communication is absolutely terrible especially to guests. Example: We need to order our evening meal in the morning via their menu booklet. This wasn't communicated and then we were lectured about it by a grumpy soul. The irony behind this is that we then knew food wasn't made fresh, it certainly tasted that way, chef cannot be asked to make anything fresh - Fresh frozen microwaved steak like in Kitchen Nightmares - no love. There is a limit when it comes to the term 'local cuisine', especially when you cant be bothered, the food is so bad that I've skipped meals, you can also recognise leftover food from the other day, served on a Sunday. You certainly cannot call a soup, vegetable soup when you use chicken stock. - This was their best meal over the 6 days and it was a small starter. Eggs are not fully cooked even after you request well done and it has a nasty after taste. Dessert - mousse is best served cold, not room temperature. Cleaners make excuses not to clean rooms or empty waste bins, no kettles at all if you want to make a cup of tea or hot drink and apparently no ironing boards either. The service clearly needs some polishing, dogs barking constantly and no acknowledgement from staff to the point where I believe they own the mutts - this is after being told to remain in the room, the same room I can hear the noise coming from. You cannot justify the price even in this idyllic location when everything else is rubbish. A complete joke!! If I could give it no...

I can recommend this hotel to every wintersporter. We are staying here for one week and the rooms are really nice and clean. We are staying in the renovated apartments which are pretty luxious. Also it is nice that the busstop is close-by. There are a few extra's in the hotel like a sauna, a lot of room for your skiing equipment, a gym and you can park your car snow free.

The restaurant in the hotel is also very good. We have a half pension which is breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is good with a selection of a few kind of bread, I only missed the croissants :(. To comprise this they make you fresh eggs, you can choose out of 12 different kind of ways they prepare it. Dinner is also really good, there is a salad buffet and everyday a starter. After the starter there is a soup of the day which is also nice. Then there is the main dish which you can choose out of 4 dishes, unless you are here as just a guest for dinner then you can eat a la carte. Also the deserts are good and most important the staff is really kind and funny!

If I will come back to mayrhofen I will definitely come back...

Das Alpen Resort Schrofenblick ist ein traditionsreiches Appartementhotel das komplett neu gestaltetet wurde. Das Personal ist eingespielt, sehr erfahrenen und äußerst hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ursprünglich ein Appartement für zwei Personen gebucht und sind dann kurzfristig doch mit unserer 11 Jährigen gefahren. Vor Ort wurde uns kurzer Hand, aufgrund freier Kapazitäten, ein größeres Appartement angeboten. Die Zimmer sind sehr modern aber auch traditionell gestaltet und verfügen über qualitative Möbel und Kücheneinrichtungen. In unserem großen Appartement im Haupthaus gab es ein Bad mit freistehender Wanne und Dusche und ein reines Duschbad. Die große Terrasse am Wohnbereich mit Loungecouch, Stühle und Tisch lädt zum Frühstücken und Abendessen ein. Wir waren insgesamt eine Woche da und haben bis auf den ersten und letzten Tag immer selber Essen gekocht. Da alles noch sehr neu ist, gibt es auch noch Dinge die man nicht verbessern, sondern ergänzen könnte. Dies wären, ein Abzieher für die Dusche, Eierbecher, ein Staubsauger (z.B kleiner Dyson), Vorhänge im Badezimmer (Appartement: Penke 4), eine Schuhschale für Wanderschuhe bzw. im Winter für schmutzige Stiefel (schützt den teuren Boden), einen Hinweis zum Intervall des Handtuchwechsel bzw. Zimmerservice und der Hinweis das keine Duschlotion bereitgestellt wird.

Wir hatten leider keine Gelegenheit das hauseigene Restaurant auszuprobieren. Das Ambiente mit der großen Terrasse wirkt aber sehr einladend.

Die Sauna, die im Sommer am Montag, Mittwoch und Freitag geöffnet ist haben wir nicht genutzt, sah aber sehr modern, sauber und einladend aus. Wir waren jeden Tag sehr lange wandern und hatten daher keine Zeit.

Es gibt ausreichend Parkplätze die kostenlos zur Verfügung stehen. Direkt vor dem Haus gibt es drei Parkplätze für Elektroautos die wir auch für unseren Hybrid genutzt haben (46 Cent/kwh).

Das Appartementhotel liegt 1,5 Kilometer vom Zentrum Mayrhofens entfernt und damit sehr ruhig. Zu Fuß brauchten wir maximal 10 Minuten.

Die Rezeption ist nicht durchgängig besetzt aber immer erreichbar.
