If you are looking for the traditional Austrian style then this is not the place for you. This hotel is modern and lacks the 'traditional Austrian' atmosphere, but makes up by having lovely facilities and outstanding staff.||||We visited this hotel with our 3 children and had a wonderful stay. The rooms we booked were extremely spacious, allowing us to unpack our many suitcases full of winter gear, and still have much room to spare. The rooms we had were connecting by a little hallway, with an extra door to the main hall.||The rooms were very neat and extremely clean and every day the beds were made up beautifully, using our daughter's stuffed toys as accessories in fun looking displays Every day was fun for them to return to the room to see which toy was used in a new display.||||The staff at this hotel are extremely attentive and obliging. Nothing seems to be a problem and personal wishes are catered for at all times. Although there is a set menu every evening (with some choices) and a set kids menu, there was lovely food every evening and no problem if the kids (or adults) wanted something slightly different or off menu. Also the breakfast was a feast with a huge array of choices. ||They take allergies into consideration and every morning they spend time at your table, personally going through the choices for the evening meal and noting down the wishes.||||The location is very good as it is very close by to the ski lifts. You can get a voucher at the reception for a discount at a ski supply hire store (Bacher), near the lifts. It is a good place to hire your stuff and you can keep it there in a depot. There is a depot nearer to the lifts, but that doesn't go through this place. I believe you must then go to Patschneider store.||You can also buy the ski pass at the hotel reception which makes it all very efficient. The hotel also has a ski store room, if you are inclined to bring your gear back up to the hotel instead of using a depot. (we were very pleased with the depot though).||||The spa area is nice but not great for (small) kids. More a place for adults to go and relax, rather than for kids to go to and play. We visited it only once in the week as I felt a big awkward bringing 3 children into this 'peaceful' place.||||Although I did miss the traditional Austrian style a tiny bit, this is definitely a place I would return to, and would recommend anyone to go to (family, young couples, elderly couples, large parties etc). We made up for the 'lack of traditional style', by visiting cute restaurants on the mountain during the day and soaking it all up there!||A little hidden gem is the Hög Alm, which is a bit of an effort to get there but certainly...
Read moreFor the third year in a row, we passed a couple of days starting somewhat before Christmas and ending with Christmas in Jenny's Schlössl in Serfaus. Jenny's Schlössl is a four star superior family hotel and every one of these stars is fully earned. The rooms are well equipped, nicely decorated and impeccably clean every day. The beds were of fine quality. The swimming pool and spa is relatively small but more than OK. The management of the hotel, Peter and Jenny (at dinner assisted by Jenny's father) is friendly, kind, considerate and more than willing to help fulfil any wish or desire you might have, as is by the way all of the staff. The kitchen staff managed to present us a fine dinner every day, especially on Christmas eve. At breakfast there is a wide variety of things to choose from. ||If I should mention one thing that could use some improvement, it would be the wifi connection. Wifi functioned perfectly near the reception all the time but worked slow and sometimes not at all in our room. Knowing this however from previous years, this time I bought a prepaid Austrian phonecard for € 15 and 10 Gb for another € 15 in "Greiter's Laden" next to the supermarket, which allowed me to have great internet connection on my room during our entire visit. Or maybe I should not have bothered about this at all and should have spend more time relaxing?||Should you want to come to Serfaus for skiing purposes, than Jenny's Schlössl is a fine choice. It is only a couple of minutes by foot to the ski lift station, although you might consider leaving your ski's and shoes at one of the depots near to the station because a small part of the road down to the station (and up again at the end of the day) is really steep. Skiing itself in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is like a dream come true. The slopes are well maintained and there are more than enough slopes and lifts to avoid crowds. Everything concerning skiing is well organized in Saerfaus and yet every year you can notice small improvements. Very professionally!||Spending your holiday at Jenny's Schlössl is as near a guarantee for a perfect holiday as you can find. So why look...
Read moreWe stayed here for 5 nights having never been to Surfaus before. We were the only English group in the hotel as Surfaus is mainly popular with the Dutch, Germans and, of course, Austrians. This is a review about the hotel, but first, just to say that the resort itself was very good, with great skiing for all abilities. We were caught up in a Dutch holiday week so it was very busy with some big lift queues at peak times. If you’ve never been here, definitely worth a try.||The hotel is well situated, about a 5 minute walk to the lifts. You can either use the hotel’s ski lockers or rent ones at the ski lifts to avoid the walk up hill at the end of the day. We used Bacher Sports but we would not use them again. Their ski lockers were dated and ski hire service was poor. For a little extra there was a much smarter ski hire and locker set up just at the gondolas.||The hotel itself was great, we had a superior room (201) which was very spacious and comfortable with a lovely balcony facing the slopes.||The food really was 5* so huge credit to the chefs who also looked after our friend’s gluten-free needs very well.||The spa was also 5* - it was spread over 3 levels with an outdoor rooftop pool, and indoor brine pool, 2 saunas, a steam room, an infrared room and loads of relax areas and water beds, swing chairs for chilling etc. probably the best hotel spa we’ve experienced.||As mentioned by others, the bar area is a big disappointment although it did have a nice sun terrace over the road. It was a very drab bar area, very functional with no atmosphere.||So why 4, not 5 stars? As well as the disappointing bar area, a few little niggles - charging for carafes of tap water is simply ludicrous and very annoying. Our friends ended up bringing their own water bottles to dinner. It’s not the cost, it’s the principle! One evening we were offered desert wine by a waiter going round the tables at the end of the gala dinner (which was very good) so assumed it was complimentary - no it was €10 which we only discovered when we got the bill.||All in all, we...
