I recently stayed at the Taj Plaza Hotel in Juffair and it was a truly disappointing experience. The rooms were very small, especially considering we booked a Two-Bedroom Suite. To our surprise, there was no door connecting the rooms, and we had to go outside and use the key card to access the second room. I have never encountered such an inconvenient setup before. On top of that, the staff members were extremely unpleasant. From the room boy to the person claiming to be the General Manager, everyone displayed arrogance and a lack of interest in welcoming their guests. Basic amenities like towels and water bottles were not provided, and it was only at 3.00 am that they suddenly demanded ID proofs from everyone, even though they hadn't asked for it during check-in. Their unnecessary interference throughout our stay was embarrassing and intrusive. What saddened us even more was the exorbitant price we paid for such below-average facilities. We were charged 41 BD, which was outrageously high considering the lack of quality and service. I strongly advise families and bachelors to steer clear of this hotel, as there are far better options available nearby. The only thing to appreciate in this hotel is their clean swimming pool. Other than that, If given the opportunity, I would rate it a negative 5. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different hotel for...
Read morePositive Aspects of the Property:
Location: The location is excellent, with Juffair Mall less than 100 meters away. The mall offers a food court, kids' play facilities, and a Lulu Hypermarket.
Staff: The reception and other staff members are good and helpful.
Housekeeping: Housekeeping services were generally good. However, the comforter provided was of poor quality, with dirty fabric pilling inside. The mini bar fridge was not working but was promptly replaced when informed. Slippers and ironing boards are provided upon request.
Elevators: The elevators in the hotel are good and fast.
Parking: Parking is available, but it’s at your own risk. It can be difficult to find a spot in the evening due to the party and spa visitors.
Negative Aspects of the Hotel:
There was a noticeable cigarette smell throughout the hotel. The swimming pool was unattended and not kid-friendly, with no tubes available for children. Besides the Juffair Mall food court, there were no good restaurants nearby. Although we heard about party noise, it did not cause any issues for us. The TV provided was very old with a partial display, offering only five Arabic channels of very poor quality and nothing...
Read moreWe booked to stay here for 3 nights via Booking.com, after seeing it was 4 star - OH NO IT ISN’T!||The Reception was very dimly lit and the decor quite dated, but the Reception Staff were friendly and helpful and took our bags to the room.||The room was dirty and smelt. There was dirt in the bath from the extractor fan above and the bath itself had an attractive cigarette burn.||The lamp shades in the bedroom were broken and covered in dust and the handles of the wardrobe were broken.||We couldn’t face staying in the room so went back down to Reception within 10 minutes of getting in there.||Again the staff were friendly and understanding suggesting an alternative room but I think this wasn’t the first complaint of this nature.||They took our luggage to the car for us after we confirmed we did not want to stay.||||The two staff we met were good but that is the only redeeming feature of this experience.||There are plenty of other hotels in the area (which we have stayed in) which...
