I grew up in Texas, so it was nice to have some BBQ and traditional sides. I had a brisket sandwich and coleslaw. The brisket was good, BBQ sauce was good, and the coleslaw was nice and thin sliced, but flavor was meh.
Kid's had the chicken strips and fries, as well as a cheeseburger and mac & cheese. They both loved their food!
My friend the ceasar salad and chili cheese fries and said they were good. She also got sweet tea and I was a little thrown off about how it came out. In Texas, we brew the tea and add the sugar when the tea is hot. The tea here came with a side of some type of liquid sugar? Not really sure.
We would definitely come back and try a few more things and would absolutely recommend this place.
Second time with family: We went back again and had different food. We got nachos and chicken wings as an appetizer. Nachos were delicious and husband liked the wings.
The beef sliders is what our daughter got, she said they were good. They were much bigger than a typical slider.
My husband got the BBQ platter which was pulled pork and brisket and a side of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The brisket is definitely better than the pulled pork as far as flavor goes. Both were good and the garlic mash and green beans were very good!
They had a special promotion that I got, it was a whole chicken with your choice of a side salad or steamed veggies. The chicken comes in 3 flavors (Lemon pepper, Honey BBQ, Mediterranean), the lemon pepper was recommended as the most popular, so I went with that and the steamed veggies. The flavor was great, the leg meat was juicy, but unfortunately the breast was a little dry. The steamed veggies had no seasoning, butter or sauce.
I've added more photos to this review for the second time...

We’re protesting to have a the best burger in town! They need to give us what we want! 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♂️
And we had it, but it comes with a good price 🙃 And we can say it’s worth it!!! 🥰 We asked ourselves where we can find one of the best burger in town, as we haven’t had one for a while. We both check on google and from there we choose one then investigate 🧐 We came to conclusion and chosen Big Texas BBQ at Olive Hotel. I went here twice and had some of their dishes, I won’t forget how the manager show me their smoked & slow cooker machine to make for beef brisket. Moving on, we find ourself enjoying their ohhh so juicy, yummy burger. Not just that! Their sides is soo good, generous serving!
Big Ben Burger - two juicy beef patty with cheese and they put on side your TLC. So you can have it plain or with TLC (must try) Longhorn Back Door Sliders Sandwich - that’s a long name 😛 but oh goodness it’s really good. You can choose 3 sliders (smoked chicken, beef brisket, pulled pork or ground beef). Well I try it all 😋 💯 must have! The sides are so good, Big Texas Mac n’ Cheese - this is so creamy and cheese Sam Houston Hush Puppies - it’s a baked round bread with sweet and sour dip Garlic Fries, Garlic Mashed Potato (not powered, and really yummy)
For our drinks, we have requested something out of the menu which they granted. As we want milk shake to our burgers, they make us strawberry and chocolate 😊
The place is obviously American theme, howdy cowboy vibes. They have open kitchen, smoking and non smoking area, open bar and open stage for entertainment.
We’re not a fan of crow fed places and restaurant with open alcohol bar, but we love their food and the stuffs are amazing.

Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into Big Texas Barbeque & Waffle House, I was transported straight to the heart of Texas with its authentic, mouth-watering barbecue and cozy ambiance. The menu offers an impressive array of options, catering to all tastes and preferences. The slow-cooked ribs, smothered in their signature sauce, were a standout, falling off the bone and bursting with flavor. Equally impressive were the waffles, light and fluffy, providing a sweet balance to the savory barbecue.
The restaurant’s decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both casual diners and food enthusiasts. The homage to classic Texan culture is evident in every corner, making the dining experience not just about food but also about enjoying a slice of Texan life.
However, there is a slight area for improvement. While the overall experience was delightful, a boost in staff friendliness and engagement would elevate the dining experience significantly. A little more warmth and attentiveness from the staff could make a big difference in making diners feel more welcomed and appreciated.
In conclusion, Big Texas Barbeque & Waffle House is a gem for those seeking authentic Texas barbecue. The quality of the food is exceptional, and with a little enhancement in customer service, this place could become not just a restaurant but a memorable experience for all who visit. I am looking forward to my next visit and am eager to see the staff embrace the same warmth that their kitchen so masterfully delivers in...
