Barishal,a major city that lies on the banks of the Kirtankhola river in south-central Bangladesh.It is one of the oldest municipalities and river ports of the country. The city was once called the Venice of the East or the Venice of Bengal.
Hotel Kingfisher is located at a prime location in Barisal just opposite to historical Bibir Pukur Par. I stayed here for 3 nights on room number -506 and 407.
When we stayed there,after discount their fare was Premium Room - 2,700/- Deluxe Couple - 2,100/- Twin Room - 2,400/- Single Room - 1,500/ They were offering 40% Discount at that time.
The hotel is on the 4th, 5th and 6th floor.The reception is on the 4th floor.
Room is very standard according to price,,rooms were neat and clean,there were toothbrush, toothpaste, soap,shampoo and 1 bottle of 1.5 Litre water which was given complimentary.The staffs were also cordial and helpful.
Complimentary Breakfast - First day they gave complimentary breakfast Khichuri,egg and vorta, that wasn’t up to the mark,,the rest 2 days they gave Parata,Egg,Vegetables,, especially their vegetables were awesome.

Read moreThe hotel is on the 4th, 5th and 6th floor. Very strangely there is no entrance on the street side but you have to go through the parking garage with a lift to the reception on the 4th floor.
The rooms are very standard and have no character but everything is there, a bed, chairs, air conditioning, a fan and a TV. There is a bottle of water and in the bathroom there is a nice towel, shampoo, a toothbrush and soap. Unfortunately the air conditioning smells very much of mothballs so I turn it off. The fan unfortunately still runs much too fast on low speed so you can't sleep because of the noise. The room is very clean.
There is wifi but unfortunately it has no connection to the internet so you can't use it.
The breakfast is OK, fried scrambled eggs, fried vegetables and chiaptis.

Read moreI stayed for 3 nights in their premier room. Cost me BDT 2700/Night comes with a very basic breakfast (Porota, Daal/Vaaji, Egg and Raw Tea.
Room was somewhat clean but bedsheet and towels were not. Authority should give focus here. AC works nicely. Quite hotel so had good sleep. Wifi worked fine. Bathroom was clean; basic amenities were there but i couldn’t get hot water. TV has multiple channels and you can also connect with Youtube.
Staff were very cordial. Location is good but on the very much crowded road. Parking is available but tricky. Self driven car would have problem, see the picture you will understand what I meant.
