Arrived at 4am in town. I gave 3500 (we are in Taka business here not dollars), with the promise to have my 300 change in the morning. 2 days for 3200. Few hours later around 6:30ish a.m. someone was banging on my door (which does not lock properly) wanted to know what I want for breakfast. I said I want sleep. He kept on banging the door so I just have to order coffee, nan and some watery chicken soup. He demanded 220. I said I have money at the front desk. When he came back to collect the plate I asked him for some bath soap. He came back with a hotel tiny-size bath soap and told me to just cut it half since I am staying for 2 nights. Because the hotel is inconveniently located from all attractions, I decided to move at the town centre, around 6:30pm I came back from my tourist duties and told them I am keaving. I asked for a discount since I am only staying for less than 15 hours. Front desk guy said No. I said, OK, will you give me my change? Last night I paid 3500 minus 3200 for 15 hours stay and minus 220 for my breakfast. He said NO, he does not understand me, he is a different guy from my early morning encounter. I said OK, I will collect my things upstairs and will speak to the person who checked me in. Then, I have to explain again to the guy that checked me in early morning about my situation and asked 80 Taka back. I was not gonna donate more to their business. That less than a dollar worth of my hard earned money suddenly becomes valuable to me. I insisted. Then he gave me 50 Taka. I said, could you maybe give my 30 Taka to the guy who delivered my bath soap. You owe me 80 Taka not 50. He looked at me in all pretense not to understand me. I...
Read moreThe room was not clean (hair and dust on the floor), the bed sheets were suspicious as well. We agreed for a room with hot water, which we never had. They seem to have a big problem with their use of telephone: We had one in the room, and there was another one outside, in the hallway. They called us a couple of times at 11.30pm to require us to pay for the night (???). The phone outside kept ringing, all day long, sometimes waking us up, without nobody to ever take the call. You will have the pleasure to have someone knocking loudly at your door and coming in your room every night at 10pm to spray some mosquito repellent, which is nice, but why so late? Don't bother and give us a spray can already Also, the police came banging at every doors, at night (once again) and interrogated us, with no actual justification.
Now the room was nice compared to other places we've been for the same budget in bangladesh but honestly, treat yourself, spend money...
Read moreIt is a lodging that had minimal space with affordable price! Rooms are best for a single person or a couple looking to spend minimal time at the lodging and maximum time outdoors. Room comes with a bed, attached washroom with windows view of streets/neighboring home. Only amenity available was the strong WiFi network. No geiser but they can bring warm water upon recommendation. But this was perfect as I remained only overnight at Chittagong, adventuring around the city whole day. P.S.: If you are married, don't forget to carry relevant documents attesting to the fact that you are married and...
