I stayed at Hotel Merina with my family on 29th August. We booked two rooms with couple beds. Below is my detailed experience:||Positive Aspects:||The hotel was clean and fairly comfortable.||AC and geyser worked perfectly, which ensured a comfortable stay.||Negative Aspects:||Owner’s Behavior:||The owner’s attitude was very unprofessional and unfriendly.||He was constantly on the phone, chatting with friends and family, and showed no interest in attending to guests properly.||Poor Service:||The hotel had insufficient staff. Most of the time, no service boy was available when needed.||Surprisingly, the hotel had no plates or glasses. When I asked for them, the owner claimed previous guests broke them, so he didn’t replace them.||Mosquito Issue:||There were lots of mosquitoes in the rooms at night.||I requested mosquito spray, but the owner refused to provide a spray bottle, saying guests waste it.||He assured me a staff member would spray at 10 PM. However, the staff came around 10:45 PM, and even then, sprayed only one room instead of both.||Common Toilet Condition:||In the morning, we checked out at 8 AM but left our luggage at the reception as our bus was later in the day.||When my elderly mother, wife, and baby returned at 1:30 PM and requested a toilet, the owner gave access to a common toilet, which was extremely dirty and unhygienic (pan system).||Since my mother cannot use a pan toilet, she had to use a different room’s toilet, which made the owner angry, and he behaved very rudely with her.||Luggage Assistance:||The hotel is on the first floor. We requested help from a service boy to bring the luggage downstairs, but the owner refused, saying no staff was available and we would have to wait.||Due to time constraints for our bus, we had to carry our luggage ourselves.||Final Thoughts:||The rooms were clean and the facilities like AC and geyser were good. However, the owner’s rude behavior, lack of basic hospitality, poor service, and unhygienic common toilet made our stay extremely disappointing. This hotel seriously needs better management, basic facilities (like plates and glasses), and proper...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights and 2 days. The ambiance, decoration and the furniture in the room were up to the mark. The bathroom was also in very good condition—it was clean and there was no problem with the water supply.
The staffs were helpful at times, but on many occasions, when I asked for a certain thing or a service, like hot water, a glass or a spoon, there was considerable delays. They need to improve the room service. The attitude towards customer satisfaction makes all the difference here.
There was complimentary breakfast with my stay. Paratha, omelette and tea were provided as the breakfast. I think they can do better with the food. A few more items can be added, or the option to choose from a few different items (or combos) would be better. On the last day of my stay, the tea with the breakfast was made with salt instead of sugar. That was one of the few hiccups that I faced during my stay.
On the better side, the hotel looks new and clean. My room had a TV mounted on the wall, a sofa to relax and a window, from which I enjoyed the scenery outside while it was raining. The hotel is situated on the main road, so you can always find rickshaws or easy bikes ("auto"—as some might know them) if you need to go somewhere.
I booked my room by calling them by phone, so from my experience, they take booking via phone.
Overall, the stay was pleasant, if not great. I would love them to improve their service as well as...
Read moreAs it was our first time visiting srimangal, we were a bit tensed about exploring everything by our-self but hotel merina made it really easy for us. The staff and employees are super cooperative. From car booking to bbq, giving information about nearby restaurant and sight seeing they have helped us in everything.
They have a tiny rooftop, so you can enjoy the morning fresh air or evening bbq there. it was our bad luck that it was raining, so it was not that smooth. But whole staff and owner put their heart on it to make it successful !
The rooms are enough specious and clean. Though we took the budget room but I will suggest the authorities to provide some basic amenities like brush, paste and tissues.
The good thing about the hotel was a convenient store in the downstairs , so you can have everything in a regular price. The nearest ATM and market is about 5 min by rickshaw and the rail station is 6 min by autorickshaws. Local mode of travel is by autorickshaws / tomtom (tuktuk) or CNG driven autorickshaw and you can always get them infront of the hotel by waiting maximum 2-3 min.
As we took really low priced room, I didn’t expect that VIP hospitality like allowing us to use a room even after check out, but I was amazed with their behaviour! Though our initial plan was 2 night, but we stayed 3 night there and it was completely...
