Hotel Kasteel Solhof – A Hidden Gem in Aartselaar Nestled in the heart of Aartselaar, Hotel Kasteel Solhof is a charming, historical retreat that offers a truly personal and welcoming experience. Its intimate atmosphere and guest-focused approach make it a standout destination for travellers seeking comfort and warmth. As part of the World Europe Tour organized by our spiritual and humanitarian organization, we stopped in Antwerp following visits to Helsinki, Glasgow, London, Frankfurt, and the Netherlands. At Kasteel Solhof, we were greeted with open arms by Adriano, the owner and managing director, whose dedication to ensuring our happiness was apparent at every turn. Adriano and his team exemplified friendliness, professionalism, and a willingness to go the extra mile. The meeting facilities were perfectly equipped to accommodate our 40 participants, offering a seamless environment for our sessions. The lunch buffet was a delightful highlight, catering to all dietary needs with a variety of flavourful dishes. The hotel’s spacious rooms are far larger than those of a typical establishment, combining comfort and elegance to create a restful stay. With its impeccable service and unique charm, Kasteel Solhof left us with cherished memories and a profound appreciation for its warm hospitality. And to close our stay breakfast was equally outstanding, featuring an excellent buffet with a wide selection of traditional Belgian delicacies. From fresh pastries to savoury options, every bite was a treat that started our day on...
Read moreThe history of Castle Solhof dates back to 1414 and at one time it was surrounded by moat and castle walls, the moat and turrets of the castle still survive today. Now a hotel the present owners bought the Castle in 1990. The entrance and cobbled courtyard are very impressive, with an ornate fountain / pond and neatly pruned hedges. At check-in the receptionist did not seem at all bothered about Covid and said I should remove my mask as it was not needed, even though I had just arrived from the UK and driven through France! My room was very warm and I couldn't see how to control the heating, so I opened both windows! The bed was comfortable and the room clean, but I do hate a shower in a bath with a clingy shower curtain. My room was €99 booked...

Unfortunately during this difficult times with the COVID measures we need to wear a mask, andto my surprise the lady at reception did not wear it properly during her phone call. ||After the phone call she put it back on to get my details and offer me the key to my room. |I am traveling around Europe for work during the COVID times and need to be extremely careful with this and to my surprise the receptionist did not comply with this. I really do not understand this thing of taking it off and on all day long..... the face mask is to put it on and leave all day. ||The next morning the gentleman at the reception had the mask on at all times and was extremely nice and polite so I thank him for that. ||The hotel should take measures and speak to their staff to keep the mask on at all times during work. ||Very disappointed and I don’t want to get infected from someone who...
