Review for Mission Bay
Here are a few things about our trip to Mission Bay. As with any trip there are good and not as good moments. I bright side is that we did not have a bad moment
The good: Staff- Jorge and Yeymy could not have been more friendly and helpful. Jorge even cut down coconuts for us. He cut them up and had us try the water fresh from the source. Yeymi cleaned everyday even though we tried to get her to relax a bit. Julia was amazing. She cooked for us 3 days and every time it tasted great. She made homemade tortillas, fry-jacks, and biscuits. We marveled at how great they were Mission the house mascot/cat was friendly and adorable. He provided all of us that wanted it snuggles and playtime. I do apologize to all the staff as we asked hours of questions about everything. They were all kind and answered everything we came up with.
The Outside of the House- You cannot get closer to the beach. The Caribbean was warmer than the pool if you can believe that. There were paddle boards kyack’s and canoes available to use. We used the kyack’s and paddle boards they were fun. There was a volleyball net set up and a fire pit ready to go. We did not keep track of our time and did not have a chance to use them. I guess we will have to come back. Golf carts were provided for easy access to everything in Placencia. There is a resort across the street that has Mini Golf, Pickle Ball, and a Gym. These this you can use for a 100$ US for the whole house for a week. Icky’s also has a bar and restaurant that is open to the public.
The Inside of the House- The rooms are spacious and clean. There were some with views and some without. Each room had a tv available except for the half room on the second floor.
The not as good: The staff- there was nothing about the staff I would change. They were the absolute best The Outside of the House- These are things that cannot be prevented because it is a beach house. There are wild animals Raccoons, Birds, and bugs. You have to stay vigilant to keep things clean to keep the pests away
The Inside of the House: The rooms were all separate from the living space. This is a good and bad thing as it does provide privacy but you do have to go outside to get to shared living space. That also is not a bad thing except of it is raining. One of the bedrooms is not a separate room. It is a half wall connected to the main inside living area. There is no privacy for anyone staying in that room. We were lucky and did not need that room and just used it for the restroom of the living area. The kitchen was fine but could have used an ice maker on that floor. As it is set up now there is only ice on the ground level by the bar
As I said before there was nothing bad about our trip. We would come back 10 out...
Read moreNamir, our caretaker and her husband Anthony, the private chef, are gems. I cannot express enough how much they made us feel at home. Anthony can COOK and BAKE (this is not always the case with chefs) — his meals were phenomenal. The house was always so clean thanks to Namir and she really assisted us with everything and anything we could ask for.
The house does need updating, but it’s definitely something that can be overlooked due to the other amenities (just hope they update it sometime soon for future guests). The beach is really beautiful and our group used the kayaks and paddle boards every day. The pool is also so nice to have. We had a group of 12 adults and there was plenty of seating and plenty of room for us to spread out. The golf cart was also very useful to ride around and check the area out.
Erica, our concierge was EXTREMELY helpful and responsive. She made everything seamless — even when a member of our group missed their connecting flight, she helped me to resolve it within minutes.
Lastly, Mission — their sweet outdoor cat was my most favorite part. He is so friendly and adorable. Our group took MANY pictures of him.
All in all, it was an amazing trip and I highly recommend staying here for your...
Read moreWe stayed here for a week with a group of 12 including 6 young children. The house was amazing! There was a fantastic open-air living and dining room on the main level. That was definitely the most utilized space of the house! The layout of the bedrooms were strange, as all entrances had to be accessed from an outside private entrance. It was difficult at first since many of the kids we were with were very young, but we ended up figuring out a way to make it work. Other than that difficulty, everything else was amazing! The on-site housekeeper and Chef, Candy and George, definitely made our trip so much more than it would have been. They were so sweet, attentive, and took care of everything very well for us. The house was situated on a beautiful beach that was combed every morning. It has a private dock that we would fish on everyday . The pool was also perfect, especially for the younger kids as it was not very deep. Overall, this was an amazing house and we would...
