Hotel Espectacular — Hotel in El Alto

We stayed at this hotel for a quick stopover between flights. It’s about a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our double room was a good size, but it faced the main street, so noise was an issue late into the night—unfortunately, the windows did little to block it. The room had a fridge, which was useful, but no air conditioning or fan, which was a downside. While it was a bit chilly in the afternoon and evening, the heater provided wasn’t very effective.

The bathroom could use some improvements to prevent water from spreading across the floor, such as a longer shower curtain, a taller floor barrier, and a proper bath mat.

On the plus side, there are plenty of shops nearby, and reception recommended Buen Gusto, which turned out to be a great choice.

Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for a short layover, but be prepared for some noise and temperature...

Absolutely freezing at night with thin blanket. I wore everything I had including my puffer jacket. No wifi in 3rd floor room but fine in the lobby. Breakfast is served from 8-10 am which would be nice if you didn't have a 10 am flight. I didn't see any cafeteria though. Large single room with ensuite (loo paper, soap & towel provided), dresser, small table & 2 chairs, two bedside tables, double bed, TV, room heating (did not work though) and phone to contact reception. I had to use the phone to ask how to make the shower hot - friendly young man came quickly to the room and adjusted the shower head. That improved it from cold to warmish, but not very warm. Very clean and comfortable otherwise. Good location for walking everywhere including markets and airport...

Clean, friendly staff. Gave us a meager breakfast in the evening on the 5th piso before our early morning departure. Wifi strong while it worked. Hot water, small bathroom....had to step into the shower to exit the bathroom. Heart lights-- dubbed the love shack. We were expecting worse. Stay only if you need a place close to airport before a flight. No tourist restaurants nearby. Inner room probably more quiet, but street views are...
