Once you make the arduous trek almost all the way up to the top of the island you will be out of breath but will be rewarded with stunning views from every room here. Well worth the climb. It’s a large, family run hotel which has been extended multiple times including a roof top terrace and a meditation/ yoga room. Breakfast was served around eight and was delicious. Rooms are stunning with lots of attention to detail. Now, the only downside is that there is no electricity from around 10pm until at least midday the next day which is when we left. That means no hot shower, no WiFi etc. It was actually quite liberating and we spent most of that time hiking and reading. But could’ve done with a nice hot shower. Our hosts were lovely and always had time for a chat with us.

We stayed one night but I definitely wished we could spend one more. The view from our bedroom window was fantastic. We were on the first floor near the dining room. The bed was really comfortable and we had plenty of blankets to keep is warm. The hot water worked well for us. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom window not being very private so we had to hand a towel over it but not so fussed about it. The breakfast is simple - cereal with yoghurt and fresh fruit, pancakes and hot drinks. Sufficient to get you started. The location is good as well - it's at the top of the island but that means close to restaurants. We didn't really struggle that much with the climb. WiFi worked really well for us, better than in Copacabana!

The room was pretty comfortable and quiet which was the only upside. The location is pretty bad, it's far away from everything and you'll have to walk through cowshit to get there. The old lady that runs it is only nice if you don't want anything from her. I only asked to see other rooms than the one she gave me and she was grumpy with me ever since. She locks the outside doors in the evening and you don't have a key to get out. Breakfast looked disgusting and the crepe had hairs in it, I didn't touch it. Views are average comparing to other places.

Great stay at the top of Isla Del Sol! Room was beautiful with a great view of the water and mountains in the distance. The couple running the property were very kind and the breakfast made by the husband was simple, but very tasty!

The property is at one of the highest points on the island, so while beautiful, would not recommend to those with mobility issues or would have trouble climbing stairs at altitude.

Also, because we book last minute using Booking.com, the couple was not aware of when we were going to arrive and we waited outside quite anxiously at first. Be sure to have some data plan as it may come in handy to contact the hosts if needed. While not a drawback, be aware that the hosts do not speak English, but they were extremely patient and helpful and conversed with us in simple Spanish for us to get by...which was much appreciated!

All in all, great stay within fairly short walking distance of the row of restaurants that have panoramic views...

This was a nice hostel/house near the top of Isla del Sol meaning the views of the lake from the hostel were spectacular even from the cheaper room! The shower was hot (after several minutes) and the toilet flushed - two things friends staying in a different hostel on the island said they lacked. And the wifi was reliable throughout our stay. Jose was very kind and helpful, although I was quite confused by his pricing, as he increased the price when my friend and I couldn't decide on the same room and wanted to stay in separate ones. Also from what I understood, you were only allowed to use a specific bathroom depending on the room you booked - with the cheaper room having unreliable hot water? Like much of Isla del sol the hostel/house is in the midst of being built. This didn't impact on our experience at all and I am sure once it is finished it will be incredibly beautiful, there's even a yoga room which we didn't get a...

The hotel is placed near the top of the island, so getting there is an epic climb. However most things that you would want to do on the Isla de Sol are also on the top, so the climb is unavoidable... The road to the ruins passes by the hotel, you can also find a row of restaurants a few blocks more uphill, and the road to platform for viewing the sunset also is just there. So all in all hotel´s location is perfect.||The breakfast is very good, shower reasonable. Instead of TV you get a great view over the lake. And the silence is just something amazing - not for nothing there are no cars on the island; of course the donkeys do contribute with some beautifil songs at times :)||The hotel is run by a family, it feels more like a homestay, so don´t expect anyone to be there waiting on you hand and foot all day - mostly you can find one of the family members going around their daily tasks somewhere on the property if you...
