I cannot recommend this charming little hotel highly enough. My room was comfortable and I slept well every night. The location is safe and easily walkable to desirable areas in downtown Cocha. The complementary breakfast was always satisfying. All this for a very reasonable price.
What stood out, however, was the service. A few nights into my stay, I awoke feeling very ill. That morning, I was almost too weak to stand. Unsure what was wrong with me, I wanted to see a doctor. But I was in a foreign country where I did not speak the language. I was very concerned I would not get the help I needed. But Michelle, the hotel owner, came to my rescue. Not only did she arrange an appointment with a local clinic, but she spent her entire morning with me, driving me (along with her father) to the clinic and serving as my translator. This attentiveness continued as I recovered over the next few days: Michelle and her staff brought me breakfast in my room, brought be over-the-counter medications as I needed them, and generally checked in on me.
Such superlative care goes well beyond what I would expect from a hotel stay, and shows a true decency in Michelle and in the operation which she runs. I am very grateful. When I return to Cocha, I know where I...
Read moreI stayed here with a sports team and received excellent service from the lobby staff, restaurant staff, and the management staff. It was totally unexpected. Neil, the server from the restaurant was outstanding! He has gone above and beyond his duty to accommodate us. We had some people with dietary restriction but it was NO PROBLEM for them and they really seem to understand the seriousness of some allergies. We had a birthday celebration for one that had gluten-free restriction and they had asked around all over the city and bought us a cake to celebrate her birthday and they would not let us pay for the cake! Some of us had problem getting Boliviano currency from home but that's not a problem for them. They brought in some currencies for us to exchange, right at the lobby! When the organizing committee forgot to send a pick up to go back to the airport, no problem! They just called for a taxi for us and told us that they will pay for the cab and will contact the OC later to settle the payment! WHAT??? Is this really happening?? Of course, there is the usual... Greeting by the lobby staff, cleaning crew, etc. Wow! You will not be sorry to stay...
Read moreSo I arrived and they tell me they have a room avail for me for $40 for the night. After I pay and get everything ready and then I head out to grab something to eat, it's about midnight at this point. When I return the guy at the counter tells me that I have to pay additional $15 because he made a mistake with the price. I told him I shouldn't pay and he told me that if I don't then I wouldn't get the room.
Furious about this and having a newborn in arms I decided to pay so I can get some rest since I had to leave early morning the next day.
Then when I arrive to the bathroom there is Moore's all over the walls. I just shut the door in the bathroom, got some rest and left as soon as possible. HORRIBLE...
