Hotel La Sierra — Hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra

You speak Spanish, because no one at that hotel speaks any other language. Not unfriendly by any means, but good luck getting anything done besides sleeping there. Their phones didn't work when I was there and the clerk charged me 1 Bs to use his cell phone to call my cab to get out of there. At this part of my trip a freak cold front moved into the city for 4 days and it was getting down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit at night. This is when I found out 98% of the hotels in Santa Cruz do not have heaters, and the sierra doesn't either. Not only that the bathroom was primitive and there were significant gaps in the bathroom windows of open air and no screen. It also cost $43 a night with tax. The Hotel LP and Royal Lodge both have heat. LP- $40 a night and Lodge $45 with free breakfast. I would not suggest this hotel. If you want to live basic and don't mind semi-privacy there's a few hostels around the city that...

I've stayed about two weeks in that hotel while working in Santa Cruz, and I would recommend it. The strong point is the excellent service and the cleanliness. Rooms are good and the hotel is on a quiet street. Breakfast is decent but not exciting. There is a price difference of about $4 for room with or without air conditioning. Good value on the whole. Quando fiz a reserva neste hotel foi por dois motivos: ao pesquisar hotéis em Santa Cruz identifiquei hotéis mais caros e com pior avaliação e ao visualizar no mapa acreditei estar muito próximo da Praça 24 de Setembro, mas não fica assim tão próximo. O hotel é limpo, o atendimento é bom e os apartamentos passaram por uma reforma recentemente, mas o serviço foi muito mal feito. Por exemplo: apesar de ter um aparelho de ar condicionado novo, o aparelho velho não foi retirado e tem tubos aparentes; o chuveiro é velho e cheio de fios pendurados; não tem box, sequer uma cortina, então ao tomar banho o banheiro fica todo molhado. O café da manhã além de não ter diversidade os itens são contados pelo número de hóspedes e não tem qualidade. No segundo dia tinha umas empanadas gordurosas. Quando fizemos o check-in perguntei a senhora da recepção sobre o Festival Internacional de Música Renascentista y Barroca Americana que estava acontecendo na cidade e ela não sabia. No dia seguinte perguntei ao Senhor que estava na recepção e ele nos orientou onde obter as informações. Para ser justa esclareço que constatei que o Festival Internacional não faz um bom trabalho de divulgação do evento, dado que perguntei a outras pessoas e ninguém dispunha de muitas informações, além de ter pesquisado exaustivamente...
