September 24 Square — Attraction in Santa Cruz de la Sierra

This is the plaza I think of when my mind wanders to Bolivia. Things in Santa Cruz may change throughout the times but this plaza is etched in everyone’s memories and will likely stay that way for many more generations. It’s exactly circle after circle in the middle of the city. It’s not big but calm surrounded with to many historical and sophisticated buildings. All banks almost full if you want to sit you have to search it. There’s plenty restaurants, bar or cafes around. Street artists or street dancer mostly near the square. To reach with your car would be some traffic consider that to park your own car street before the Center. Go for it...

El punto de encuentro de nuestra ciudad, donde propios y extraños llegan a degustar de un café cortado, mientras ameniza una charla o se queda observando el lugar. Lo malo es que llegan ambulantes a ofrecer diversos productos, desde globos, refrescos, dulces entre artesanías. Exceptuando eso, es un lugar tranquilo de encuentro e importante como referencia ya que ahí dió inicios nuestra ciudad y alrededor de ella y en calles aledañas hay mucha vida cultural y comercial.

Alrededor de la plaza se pueden encontrar diferentes instituciones: Acera Norte.- El edificio Central de la Alcaldía, La Casa de Gobierno de la Gobernación, el banco Argentino y unas casas de cambio. Acera Sur.- La Basílica menor de San Lorenzo más conocida como Catedral Metropolitana de Santa Cruz, el edificio de la Brigada Parlamentaria y en la esquina el Museo de la Independencia. Acera Este.- Centro Comercial Bolívar, el edificio Educativo y Cultural de la Alianza Francesa y un edificio denominado La Pascana en el que se encuentran restaurantes y heladerías.
