Hotel Rustico Casona De Sal — Hotel in Uyuni

BE AWARE if you don’t want to get electrocuted. Let me elaborate - I am traveling with my dad. Who has a pace maker. In the morning I went to take a shower, their showers were very sketchy with many cords exposed but I looked past it bc I needed a shower. When I went into the shower.. all was good, water was hot, until I needed to adjust the water. When I touch the knob to adjust the temp- I was shocked. I figured it was a one time thing so I touched the other knob- same thing. Totally electrocuted me. I had to remove myself from the shower and stand on the rubber mat to turn the knobs to turn off the shower. Now IMAGINE- if my dad had taken a shower and wanted to adjust the temperature. He could have DIED the minute he touched the knob. Here’s the kicker - the two ladies running the front desk/entire operation - are 11 and 13 years old. When I told them what happened and that we wanted to speak with the owner, they let us know the owner didn’t feel well and wouldn’t be coming down. And they then told us getting shocked was NORMAL. Now- I’m obviously not going to take it out on the children running this place - but for the owner to force these young ladies to deal with it instead of coming down themselves - is unreal. I will never support this establishment again and will do anything to make sure others don’t as well. When we were in the common area. We heard two others saying their showers were shocking...

Spent two nights here with my wife and we didn't have hot water once. A hot shower is the bare minimum when you pay for a hotel room and this was one of the more expensive hotels in Uyuni.

It is advertised as having a 24 hour front desk but you can't find anyone to speak to when you have an issue. You have to search around the upper levels of the hotel to find the management.

The rooms themselves are small but nice, the hotel is well furnished but that counts for nothing when you aren't able to...

Nice and good staff, quality of the hotel is good, also breakfast in the morning and we were complemented with some pizzas too as new guests. The bathrooms are in incredible condition with hot water. The room decoration is also local and modern at the same time with good electricity outlets and you also get free WIFI which is powerful enough to run netflix movies.

I loved the experience here and if i ever end up in Bolivia, Uyuni again this will be a sure...
