This was our first safari camp in Botswana and we loved many things about it, to the extent that I will definitely rate it 5 stars. The room was lovely, very comfortable and spacious, the ensuite bathroom was huge. The main camp/lodge area is also comfortable and well laid out. Our guide, Baba, as many have mentioned, is excellent. He's knowledgeable, considerate, very experienced and just a wonderful person to have as your guide in this environment. ||Although on one day the bridge was out and we were unable to cross to see particular wildlife that was plentiful there, Baba went out of his way to ensure we saw plenty of variety and I was able to capture photos of a leopard for the first time. Very excited. ||My only slight complaint is the food, and overall it was fine. I think I'm making a comparison to Kenya camps, where the food is so gourmet at every level and at every meal. I am pescatarian, so I eat no meat, just seafood. This was made clear well in advance and again when we were being met and had our orientation. Despite that, I didn't feel really accommodated. Mainly I was left with the vegetable side dishes, minus the mains. The only concession was the same dry, baked white fish, with no variation. Definitely nothing special. It didn't spoil my time there and I certainly didn't go hungry, but I thought the observation should be made. ||Staff was lovely overall and this is a camp to be...
Read moreCamp Moremi was our second camp of our trip and was everything we had hoped it would be. Early April isn't the easiest time to spot animals as the vegetation is quite lush, but our guide, KP, was terrific at tracking and spotting. 4 of the "big 5" were seen and we hadn't really thought we'd see rhino anyway. Seeing both Leopard and Cheetah on the same drive certainly was a highlight! Each of our drives were excellently managed and KP adapted them to serve the particular interests of all 6 of us in the vehicle. The accommodation was well maintained and very comfortable with no issues at all. During the dark hours before breakfast and after dinner guests are accompanied to their room by a team member for safety reasons, however, during the day it feels entirely safe to walk to/from the central camp area and your room. Bushbuck and birdlife were free to see and enchant engaged visitors. Meals were always very good with plenty to eat and a choice of main courses was available. The staff were all friendly and helpful and thus ensured we had a great stay. 3 nights was the length of our stay, but we could have stayed longer and continued to be delighted with all that...
Read moreWe spent three nights here as the final destination of a 3 week trip to Africa, with the last ten days devoted to game viewing. The accomodation was luxurious and well deserved the accolade of “glamping”. The staff were terrific - very friendly and only wanted to make sure our stay was the best it could be. The complimentary daily laundry service was a treat. Our guide, KP was so knowledgeable and familiar with the behaviour of the animals. On one occasion we were observing two male lions “find” each other. It was almost as if KP spoke ‘lion’ as he was able to interpret the sounds & movements and know what the lions were going to do. At one stage one of the lions headed off in the wrong direction and he was able to assure us he was circling around - sure enough 10min later the second lion appeared out of the bush right in front of us. Because we were there at the end of the wet season, there was plenty of food and water available, so the animals were not as easy to find. That said, after 6 game drives we’d seen more than we...
