We recently stayed here for 3 nights. The camp is tented with wooden structures. They have 12 canvas rooms nicely decorated and spacious. We visited in June and it can be very cold in the morning and evening so do pack extra layers, hats and gloves. They provide hot water bottles which is needed both for the room and for early morning game drive. The daily plan is you get a wake up call at 6am, breakfast at 06h30 then you leave at 7am for game drive then return around 11h30/45 and lunch is at 12h00 then siesta till 3pm when you have tea and then head out for afternoon game drive, back by 18h30 latest which is the rule for the National Park and then dinner at 7pm where there is singing and amazing food. They have water activity a boat cruise small boat for about 4 / 6 max and its a must do and a nice break from the truck game drive as you might spot Hippo or Elephant in the water which is truly typical Okavango sighting. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have the best time. We had a guide called TS who was knowledgeable, friendly and full of information and drove very well. The guide really makes the experience and you get to share meals also and learn so much about the animals and the culture of Botswana. I would definitely recommend Camp X.

Our time at Camp Xakanaxa delivered on all fronts! The camp itself is a magical combination of rustic and woodsy and also glamorous and luxurious (check out the plunge pool looking over the water). The two fire pit areas and bar are so inviting and the family-style dining room layout and service really makes you feel right at home. The food is delicious (I didn’t think I liked cooked carrots until I had them there) and they happily accommodate any dietary needs. Moremi reserve itself is what you picture in your mind when you think of a safari in Botswana. A mix of beautiful woodsy areas, wide-open grasslands, and water channels filled with reeds…it’s a truly breathtaking landscape. And the guides and wildlife are equally amazing. We saw creatures big and small on every outing. We had our first out-of-water hippo sighting on the drive from the airstrip to camp (a family highlight!). Big shoutout to Harry our guide. He knows everything about the animals and area and has the warmest smile and heart. Also, his voice feels like you’re listening to a NatGeo documentary narrator, making the whole experience even that much more authentic! Also shoutout to GB, Mpho, Kelly, and Machaba who all made the experience such an unforgettable one.

My husband and I stayed at this camp for 4 nights and it was the highlight of our African safari trip! Our guide Kaiser was amazing; he was respectable, well informed about the wildlife & habitat, and we felt safe the whole time. All the staff at Camp Xakanaxa go out of their way to make sure your needs are well beyond met. We can’t wait to come back- it was an adventure of a lifetime.

Xakanaxa’s professional service team warmly welcomed us with singing, and from then on, we experienced some of the best safari viewings in the Okavango Delta.||||Our knowledgeable and experienced tracker and guide, GB, made sure we got right up close to leopards, giraffes, zebras, hippos, impalas, kudus, jackals, warthogs, mongooses, elephants, ostriches, wildebeests, lions, monkeys, crocodiles and a myriad of wild birds. Every moment was a pure feast for the eyes.||||The home-style cooking was delicious, and the hospitable and attentive staff set up beautiful garden decorations for our evening meals under the stars and the moon, accompanied by their talented a cappella singing. ||||Game drives were twice per day. After the morning wake-up call at 6:30, a buffet breakfast was served (I recommend the local hearty porridge), and then the morning game drive started at 7:00. We returned to camp for lunch and rest until 15:00 when afternoon tea was served. The second game drive started at 15:30, and we returned back to camp for sunset.
As Camp Xakanaxa is located in the Moremi Game Reserve, all safari tours need to be back by around 18:30, so no night drives.||||The large, comfortable tents had a separate bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a toilet in the back. Amenities such as shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were all provided. It can get very cold at night, so use the extra blankets. Filtered water is provided in a huge Stanley thermos, and a jar of biscuits is in the tents for late-night nibbles.||||I can confirm that Ocar, the resident hippo, truly exists and made his appearance after dinner one night, walking through the gardens in front of...

We spent 2 nights at Camp Okuti rounding out 8 days of safari action in Botswana. We were picked up at the airstrip by our guide Onny. We had seen a lot during our first 6 nights but Onny was able to find us new things that nature had to offer. Lions, Leopard, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Buffalo,...On our final morning we had the option to sleep in or get one more game drive in prior to our flight. We choose game drive and Onny found us a pride of lions hunting buffalo. As the lions hunted, a group of warthogs walked right into the mix. A warthog became an easy snack...The scene was horrific and amazing at the same time. This completed the circle of life the we had come to Africa to witness. Thank you to Onny for such great service!!! 4 game drives and motorized boat cruise were all awesome! The only minus was that afternoon games drives had to be cut short as visitors staying within the Moremi Game Reserve have to be back in camp by 6:30pm. If you are looking for evening excursions, they are not allowed.||At camp the bar was stock and self service. Note...you may order hot breakfast each morning... we did not know this the first morning until it was too late. Rooms were nice, looking out at the river and this camp was the first that offered wifi in the room. ||Thank you for providing memories that will last...

We stayed in camp Okuti in Moremi park for two nights. |This was the last camp after spending 12 nights in Namibia and Botswana. We were really keen on seeing a leopard and more of lions activity. |On our 1st outing we saw a make lion guarding his food while the vultures and the jackets were circling. We were 3 meters away from the lion. Then in the afternoon we spotted a leopard and we basically spent 2 hours with her ( a female) we were lucky enough to take photos from all directions. While she was on the tree or laying down in the shade. |Our final day, we thought we will see much of the same. What a surprise it was, that our guide Oni all of a sudden said, I can’t believe my eyes. He spotted 4 cheetahs hunting together. Boy, was it a thrill. And after spending time with the cheetahs, we saw 9 lions together also trying to hunt the waterbucks. What a marvelous end to our game drives. The food in camp was fantastic. Everybody was friendly and helpful. When we arrived, they sang and danced for us. Food was served on one big table mixing the guides and the guest. It was a very nice way to get to know each other. |The only minor note I could say is that our room felt like it need an uplifting with maintenance. |I think the location of the camp is fantastic. |I would definitely recommend this...
