This guesthouse has lots of character and is quite unique. I loved the jungle feel with all of the plants and the wooden walkways/decks. ||Breakfast was really delicious, better than most other places, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. ||However, I was shocked at how TINY our room was. Based on the photos and the price, I expected more hotel-like accommodations. It was very clean and the decor was charming and comfortable, but there was barely enough space to put our packs down, let alone open them up or settle in. And while the bed was comfortable, it was also quite small. The windows don’t have glass in them, and insulation is non-existent, which meant we could hear every word said in the room next door. ||This place is full of charming details (like a large DVD collection if you get stuck with torrential rain), and a really lovely dining/relaxing area. It’s clean, safe, and just far enough off the main strip to be quiet. ||We splurged on this guesthouse because I wanted to stay somewhere extra nice for my birthday. Ilha Grande is a very peaceful, unspoiled by tourism island perfect for these who are seeking some quiet time away from busy cities. If you searching for tranquility this is the place for you. Pousada Riacho Dos Cambucas is located in Vila do Abraâo few minutes walk from the village centre. It is very quiet making it perfect place to switch off and relax surrounded by greenery and nature with beautiful views onto hills covered by rainforest. The sound of the nature, the best soundtrack to this place, is all around you. Squirrels and other animals including all sorts of colourful birds make often visit to your doorstep. There is a few spots out of your bedroom to relax too offering books, table games, dvd's and plenty of hammocks. The complex has a spa room with jacuzzi and possibility to book massage. Pousada offer breakfast and tea, coffee from 5pm which is a hotel's treat. In case you forgot to bring with you things for the beach such as umbrella, chair, beach towel, snorkel this place provide all of this (1 per apartment) for no additional cost. We loved this pausada. We stayed there 2 nights in a standard room. The room was very clean and well equipped with all the promised amenities, safe, TV, air dryer and more. Although the room was small we had our own peace of balconi with a small table and hammock with a fantastic view of the jungle. Just sitting there and listening to the sound of the birds was so relaxing.
