God is Good — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

God may be good but this restaurant sure ain’t…! We went here after seeing the mainly good reviews but are now pretty perplexed. For a start they didn’t have anything listed on the big board outside the restaurant, and it then took about an hour to get anyone over to order our food. We could see tables around us who had arrived later than us getting tended to before us, despite us having made eye contact etc with the waiter about 7 times, who each time gave us a signal as if they were coming over soon. It really felt like we were purposefully being ignored which wasn’t a great feeling. Two of us never got the drinks that we ordered so after about 45 minutes had to ask again for them, still didn’t get them and after asking one more time finally got them about an hour and a half after originally ordering them… our food then finally arrived about 15 minutes later and one of our orders was wrong but by this point we were all so hungry and had already waited so long that we just accepted it without saying anything. I just don’t understand how the service could have been so terrible, we’ve eaten at lots of super laidback island vibes places before but this was just crazy. The food was also really not that great which would’ve been fine had we not been waiting such a crazy amount of time for it. God is good, this restaurant is not. Poor service, disrespectful with major miscommunication between waiter, kitchen staff and the owner.

We ordered moqueca of fish with shrimp and after waiting for almost an hour to get served we got it with banana instead. We asked to change, and they came back 3 minutes later with the same dish full of banana forgotten at the bottom and a few shrimps on top, completely careless and disrespectful towards our request. Imagine if we had some allergies, which thankfully we didn't.

They didn’t even bother to give us neither Farofa or Pirão, which were part of the plates.

The waiter didn’t want to face any of the problems neither did the owner. Very unpleasant and a true disappointment.

Took extremely long Expensive for what it offered Drinks were very good and price worth We went there because a friend recommended the shrimps in pumpkin. We found it to be very expensive first (180R) but decided to still go for it (the price is comparable to other places on ilha grande) It took 1h15’ for it to arrive which was an incredibly long amount of time considering that it was only us two and 2 other tables (which already were getting their food). The food was ok, but not amazing or very special and after waiting for so long it was a bit hard to enjoy it. The drinks we got were very good tho and they arrived fast. Maybe for other dishes it takes less time, but definitely won’t ever go...
