Stayed three nights over a long weekend.||||As the title suggests, location is the main asset of this property, nice corner location, within walking distance to most things the city has to offer.||||The staff is also quite helpful and nice without being artificially so. I had a minor problem with the shower temperature and it was quickly checked.||||Breakfast is also quite good, with several cold and wam options and, on weekends, the lovely outside area is available to eat looking at life go by on the streets.||||The rooms are spacious, with a balcony, separate kitchen and living room. It really feels like a one-bedroom apartment rather than a hotel room.||||So, why only an average rating? The rooms are in urgent need of renovation. Apart form the flat screen TV in the bed area, absolutely nothing has been changed or renovated since the hotel opened in the early nineties. ||||The closets are of low quality plywood, the Formica in the bathroom walls is cracked and some of the electric sockets don't work at all. Oh, and the TV in the sitting area is an old tube set and it is tiny!||||All things considered it is OK, but could be massively better if the rooms were in better shape.||||I did not use the gym/pool facilities, so I cannot...
Read moreThe hotel is in the Savassi area of BH, a very nice and safe residential area, with many dining options within walking distance.||The rooms are spare but very big (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room). The staff was nice and friendly, very willing to help.||My only complaint is the lack of noise isolation (only single pane windows). Most of the rooms face to R. Santa Rita Durao, but the cross street R. Pernambuco seems to have traffic at all times of day.||After the first night I asked for a room facing the backside, and this helped with the traffic noise. However, this side faces an elementary school with very enthusiastic kids. This is not a problem if you get up early and are out most of the day. But if you are trying to sleep in or take a nap in the afternoon, the noise could be a problem.||In all fairness, I'm a light sleeper, so I'm very sensitive to this issue, if you are a heavy sleeper this could be the perfect...
Read moreThe hotel is nicely situated near the beautiful Praca da Liberdade, in a quiet neighborhood with tree lined streets. We we're upgraded to a suite on an upper level, with a balcony and a great view on the city. The interiors were modern, all rooms and facilities clean. The mini sized pool is not worth of a pool though, and the gym was a bit run down. Breakfast was not exciting, but okay. There is a great restaurant, where the breakfast is served. Free wifi worked in the rooms. The manager was very helpful and tried really hard, the other staff though lacked basic English knowledge (Asking for the gym, I was asked back "Café da manha?", which...
