We were driving up cost and decided to stay a night..we saw on booking for 75 real night. I couldn't book on website, for my internet wasn't working.||We figured book in person and save them the booking fee. We get to the front desk and and ask the two guys at the front desk for availability for night and price.||both guys literally were fumbling through paperwork under the desk below the desk inside the room outside the room. I asked if everything was all right they should know what trying to find the price for the room. So out of know where they shoot a price of 120 real.||I explained to them I saw the room on booking 75 real night...they claim the computer wasn't working so after another 10 minutes of wasting my time I was able to get a Wi-Fi password and show them the price and then they eventually honored it.||It seems to be a practice maybe it's about Brazil but especially in buzios they seem to size you up and see if they can get more money out of you which is a poor practice.||the room was okay for a night or two but the bed was shot so uncomfortable the mattress and right through the wood the room was clean but not really thoroughly clean.||They were no towels in the room so my wife went down to the front desk to find a guy on a phone discussing going out that night and what type of cologne he was going to use to meet some woman I mean really...he made wait 10 minutes for two towels.||I guess in a pinch it's okay to stay for a night but I wouldn't go back there again the breakfast was very simple compared to other posadas...
Read more2nd time I'm here (1st time was 2007); 3rd time for my wife. Continues the same: simple, clean, central location (3 short blocks from Rua das Pedras), A/C, TV, wireless internet & hotel workstations, minifridge, decent breakfast, friendly, attentive staff, excellent value. ||||Another review commented that the beds were subpar - yes, they're a little hard by US or most of western European standards (wood platform with foam mattress 4"/10cm). But, they're supportive and suit me well for a day or two. This isn't a 4 or 5 star international hotel, and I don't expect it to be. ||||Downsides are lots of stairs (for those who have difficulty climbing, as my wife now after knee surgery), since the rooms are almost all on the 2nd floors and there is no elevator. Rooms are smallish (don't bring several large suitcases to a simple double). Street noise can be a little of a problem depending on the room, your sensitivity, and the season. But, it's fairly quiet for Buzios (even remote neighborhoods can be very noisy during peak seasons, when your impolite neighbors are still partying at 4am with the music pounding). Bathroom shower is a typical Brazilian electrically-heated shower head, which I think are not my favorite electrical appliance (but, they're fairly typical at smaller hotels at even twice this price point)||||If price were not a major consideration, I might stay at a fancier place, (I routinely stay in Marriotts and Intercons while traveling for business) However, I have no problem going to a place like this on...
