You're not going to Diamantina to stay in the hotel room, so the fact that there's nothing special in it is not really relevant. But you'll have one of the best breakfasts in Minas Gerais, with a variety of fresh baked delicacies - the only item which is not made in the Hotel is the so-called French Bread. Every morning there's a variety of cookies, cakes, pies and pastries which are really delicious. There's also scrambled eggs and a typical delicacy from Minas Gerias - a corn porridge with cinnamon - which is something out of this world.||The restaurant also serves first-class meals at lunch and dinner time. Chef Vandeca is the most prized chef in the region, and there's literally no more space for the prizes he has received.||The staff is very friendly, and go out of their way to help the guests. Since the hotel is not located downtown, even on noisy weekeds (such as Carnival or Winter Festival Season), it's possible to find peace and quiet. (Though with a ten minute walk you find yourself right in the place where the buzz is.)||In short, yes, you will find deals with a lower price in the vicinity, but you will not be as pleased as you would if...

A Pousada fica a 1km do centro, o que no nosso caso foi ótimo, pois tivemos noites de sono maravilhosas e sem barulho. Nos sentimos seguros em Diamantina. A Pousada tem piscina, sauna, restaurante, estacionamento, oferta cafezinho e biscoitos, espaços para sentar e conversar. É linda, aconchegante e todos os colaboradores são fantásticos, com destaque à Neide - que é muito especial e atende a todos de maneira surpreendente. Também uma Sra da cozinha que esqueci o nome que fazia de tudo para agradar. E a pousada tem um chef que é bem reconhecido e tem uma comidinha regional relevante incluindo o orapronobis também conhecido em alguns lugares de MG como "a carne dos pobres" por ser bem proteica. Ficamos 3 dias mas se tivesse como ficar 5 seria ideal para conhecer a parte histórica, mas como fui no período de reveillon a proposta foi outra. Diamantina foi nossa base. Visitamos Biribiri , suas cachoeiras e a villinha. Fomos conhecer Serro e provar de seus maravilhosos queijos 🧀 Passei também por São Gonçalo do Rio das Pedras, Vau e gostei muito destes lugares, só não gostei de Milho Verde - não pelo lugar, mas pelos frequentadores - que talvez pelo período estavam exagerando em relação a bebidas e bagunças. De forma geral, Diamantina surpreendeu. This guesthouse is nice, a bit outside the city center, but not that far, around 10’ walking from the city center. Nice staff. All there is on average, breakfast, the furniture, rooms, lunch and dinner. One thing that called my attention was their “tropeiro and lombo”, try it! Amazing.
