|Ibis For do Iguacu is the best IBIS hotel we have stayed at. The location is amazing right in the centre of Foz do Iguacu, within 100m from many restaurants, gas station with a small laundromat just behind, taxi stand outside the hotel, great barber next door, lots of shops and a supermarket with ATM near by, bus connections around the corner on Avenida Schimmelpfeng in front of Mc Donald’s where you can also catch direct buses to Ciudad del Este in Paraguay.|The hotel has a nice reception, great breakfast, bar and nice lobby area. The decor of these areas is contemporary and welcoming. Room has Ibis basic amenities but aircon is perfect, bathroom is clean with a very good shower head and the beds are comfortable. Wi-Fi is free with great signal and speed throughout the property. There is a small tour desk that helps you organize your visit to the Cataratas, to shopping in Ciudad del Este and to other local attractions. ||The best of all is the staff who are pleasant and helpful. However I would specially thank LUANA VALQUIRIA for her assistance and kindness. I did a very silly thing by leaving a money belt with BRL, Euros and cards behind and did not realize until we arrived Rio de Janeiro. I immediately got in touch with the Ibis hotel and within half an hour Luana replied to my email with the wonderful news that they found my money belt intact. I actually thought there was no chance this would happen so was so thankful for the honesty and security provided by Ibis. What followed the logistics of getting the money back to me in Rio with many rules surrounding transporting/transferring cash as a foreigner without a Brazilian ID. Within days and over 20 emails with Luana who was professional and patient over and beyond expectation the cash was transferred to me in Australia by Western Union. We have travelled just about everywhere and we have never experienced such honesty, patience and care from any hotel. THANK YOU LUANA, IBIS FOZ DO IGUACU and the IBIS chain for such great qualities in your excellent staff. ||When in For do Iguacu book with this Ibis hotel. You can’t go wrong. Read moreFantastic! We travel quite a bit and sincerely we had a great welcome at our arrival. The bureaucracy to check in in a hotel in Brazil is a lengthy process but the receptionist made easier for us when he asked if we would like to sit near by during this process. After we went to our room which was clean and located in the top floor, I am glad we had this room as near by there is a restaurant /bar with live music which at times may be noise. The hotel location is great with lots of shops, restaurants, good transport links, supermarket etc, The staff in the hotel always had a smile in their faces and willingness to help guests, like my daughter who is a vegan, me using the washing machine/dryer. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager who was extremely friend and helpful. If you stay at this hotel Do Not use the services of the travel agency by the hotel entrance, they will charge much more than you need to pay. You can use a taxi or bus to go to the to the cataracts and birds park around 60 reais for taxi one way or 5 reais by bus. Itaipu is only 20 minutes away and about 20 reais by uber or 40/50 by taxi. Nice ice cream shop next door, wonderful Japanese restaurant opposite. Me and my family wants to thanks the whole staff for our wonderful stay and hope to come back. Keep up...
Read moreMy initial impression was not good - the member of staff who checked me in uttered only two words during the check in process - "passport" and "sign". I tried to initiate a bit of conversation, but it was apparent that I was wasting my time - for example I asked what time breakfast began at as I knew I had an early start the next morning and was ignored. Maybe they were having a bad day. It is not representative of all of the staff - I was speaking to one particularly nice member of housekeeping staff. ||The hotel is well located. It is within walking distance of the bus station and of a supermarket. It is also within walking distance of a number of restaurants. A taxi firm have a small office outside the hotel. You'll be at the Brazilian side of the falls by taxi in 25 minutes.||There was a good selection for breakfast. The hotel is well maintained and clean. There is good, fast wifi. Only minor annoyance was the absence of an in room safe, which is unusual for an Ibis hotel - rooms in Ibis hotels generally do have a safe. ||The price paid was good value for...
