Eco Hostel roots — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Parnaíba

We really enjoyed our stay in the shared room at Raizes in Barra Grande. The hostel and surrounding grounds are beautiful, unique, and located a short walk away from the beach and the city center. We only planned to stay one night, but ended up staying for four! The room and the beds were very nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast of fruit, bread, cheese, cake, coffee, as well as a variety of spreads was always tasty.||The hostel also fostered a friendly atmosphere and Denny and Tati were great hosts, providing us helpful tips about things to do in the area. We found it interesting learning about permaculture and the construction of the hostel. The Raizes bar, ran by Carla and Benjamin, also featured fantastic food and drink options. 😊: The building itself looks supernice from the outside. Felt like I am coming to a movie set hostel. Unusual and beautiful. There are few hamocks and chairs outside in common area. Staff does not speak English but they were nice.. 😢: Beds are terrible. Matress extra soft, pillow is so thin that even folding it didn’ help. You can’t move an inch on a top bed without shaking the whole construction and making noises. Sheets have wholes, look old and overused. The room was dirty, smells on animal shit. I even found mouse’s or some small animal’s shit on my bed.

It was superhot in the room, so fan is a must- positive thing is: there are 2 in the room. The water for showering/ brushing teeth is super salty, I am not sure if they are using sea water, but would not...

I had a wonderful stay at Raizes Eco Hostel where I stayed 2 weeks. ||Tati and Denny are great people and love what they are doing, just living their dream:) ||They made me feel very welcomed and were always there for a nice chat or to help out if I needed something. They showed me around and went kitesurfing with me a few times.||The atmosphere at the hostel is very nice, they have a few volunteers helping out so that there is always someone around, there is great food and drinks at the bar in the evening and some days there are special evenings...
