Pousada Mata Atlântica — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Petrópolis

This old Portuguese style hotel is situated in beautiful gardens but is in serious need of repair and better management. ||||We had booked and paid for four nights but had to move out after just two, owing to a couple of bad nights sleep and an inadequacy of basic services. ||||No air conditioning. No central fan. No hot water in the hand basin; the hot tap was loose with no water flowing. No hot water in the bidet, rendering it useless. A shower rose that squirted everywhere. A very sparse breakfast offering just one piece of fruit per person. Poor quality meats and cheeses, fruit juices and no one to be found to ask for assistance. ||||Noise; we were disturbed by staff shouting and arguing for over an hour and, at night, by wild animals raiding the kitchen bins some animal pulling at my bedsheets at night; due to no air conditioning we had to leave the window open with no mosquito screening. The room was sold to us a suite but, in fact, was just a bed room and small narrow bathroom. The double bed did not have a double mattress but two singles. ||||This hotel is a joke and totally misrepresented by the on-line agency through which it was booked. The Pousada Mata Atlantica dos Sauer bears the name of legendary Gracie Jiu Jitsu Master, Pedro Sauer. The Pousada is placed in the beautiful city of Petropolis, Brazil, a bedroom community of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is an idyllic paradise of beautiful weather and elevated mountains that make the resort spot a Jiu Jitsu training paradise. There is a supermercado right next door and it was so fun to arise in the mornings and go there to buy fruit and food and practice some Brazilian Portuguese with the locals. The staff at the Pousada were kind and ingratiating and were constantly working on the property doing improvements and upkeep that made this place a beautiful respite from the daily work life. I slept better at the Pousada than I had in years simply because it was so quiet and peaceful. The food was truly incredible and not to be overlooked. POUSADA DO TERROR!!!! A pousada vende como aceitação de animais. Na prática não funciona 100% desta forma. Os animais não possuem liberdade na pousada. Desde o início informei que meu cachorro era grande porte. Não indicaram em nenhum momento restrição do quarto X ou Y para a animais de grande porte. Ao chegar na pousada, o quarto destinado à nossa ocupação era PÉSSIMO: janela quebrada (em pleno local de Mata Atlântica, em época de febre amarela), outra janela não fechava por completo, geladeira enferrujada. O quarto dava para a rua, o muro era composto por cerca viva, na qual os troncos que sustentavam estavam quebrados, tombados, não dando segurança nenhuma. Pedimos para mudar de quarto e apenas indicaram que não era possível, pois o outro quarto capaz de suportar animal de grande porte já estava ocupado. Em momento algum, no início das tratativas em setembro 2017 isso foi informado.Dando a entender que a pousada aceitaria animais sem objeções. Quanto ao GERENTE... COMO UMA PESSOA DAQUELA É DENOMINADO GERENTE DE UMA POUSADA???? Sem nenhum preparo e experiência. Não sabe se portar e se dirigir ao cliente de forma adequada. Deu como opção irmos embora da pousada já que não estávamos satisfeitos. Sem ao menos tentar conversar para chegarmos num ponto comum e nos realocar em outro chalé. Sim, pois havia outros chalés vazios. Fechamos o pacote do carnaval 2018 com antecedência, no mês de setembro de 2017, ou seja, 05 meses de antecedência. Como em pleno sábado de carnaval iríamos arranjar outro local para nos acomodarmos? Depois de tantos aborrecimentos, fomos embora. O TAL GERENTE, de nome Carlos se comprometeu em devolver o dinheiro dado como sinal. Tive que realizar algumas ligações e praticamente implorar por email. Em uma de suas respostas, disse que iria depositar de acordo com a organização financeira dele. Não é assim que devemos tratar o dinheiro de um terceiro, ainda mais quando não houve prestação do serviço. Disse a ele que não estava me fazendo um favor, era mais do que obrigação devolver, principalmente porque eu tinha um documento assinado por ele se comprometendo a isso. Enfim... após todo esse relato. NÃO RECOMENDO ESSA POUSADA. É...
