I was very happy with my stay at this hotel - the staff at reception are efficient, friendly and speak excellent English. The room was fine, nothing special and no decoration or unnecessary equipment but a rather large desk, chair, bench etc. are all available and facilitate working. The wifi is not fast but stable. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well laid out, hot water was available in morning and evening. The only real annoyance in the room was the aircon - very noisy and can only be switched on or off, the fan speed can not be down regulated. Also, it drops and with time water accumulates under it (in front of the bathroom). The second disappointment is the food - dinner (very limited selection) was only just edible (because I was hungry). Breakfast is rich but again, the quality of the food...

Location is in a somewhat quiet street, so you don't really get the feeling of noisy city, car horns or motorcycles passing by - is 5 minutes away by taxi/Uber from the waterfront (where most of the restaurants are) and also right next to a Shopping Mall and a Supermarket. If you go to Petrolina 90% of the time is because of work or a specific reason, so in and around the Ibis you have everything. Staff is nice and helpful BUT not a lot of them speak english, food is surprisingly good (not gourmet dishes but then again if you want that you go to a restaurant), breakfasts are ok (though a wider variety would be nicer) and Lounge area is cool and...
Read moreAlthough the hotel was good, I ended up taking a cold shower twice. This might be because they do not have enough warm water for those who wake up after 9. Besides that, the employees were very friendly, but new very little about local tourism, which is a pity. We could park our car in front of the hotel and had no problems with the elevator, bedroom or bathroom apart from the cold shower. The bedroom could be a little better designed. My side of the bed was just a few inches from the wall....
