The first room we were given was dirty, not cleaned well. The bed was double and not a queen. The shower and sink had mould, the door handle to the bedroom fell off, the black out blinds would not close or work The sun nets were dirty. It was not nice for the price paid. ||||They did apologise and give us a second executive queen room. This was another let down. The only difference was a tiny washing machine, that looked like a food blender and a bigger fridge. The bed was even smaller, measuring out as a large single. ||||They apologised again and gave us a third room, which was like the first, but with a bigger fridge, 'blender sized' washing machine. The room looked cleaner, however the phone didn't work, the bedroom door handle fell off again, the black out blinds did not work. ||||Bring ear plugs when sleeping, as none of the rooms have carpet, so you can hear the person walking above, if they have shoes on or move the chairs. ||||The hotel is worn out, tired and has not been refurbished it seems since about 1970?||||The gym was very poor, the equipment was old, dangerous and not looked after. The breakfast was not bad, with of variety of food and choice. The breakfast room is noisy, with several TV's on all at once, along with music playing. Not a relaxing place. Why is it not possible to enjoy a breakfast without music and TV's playing all at the same time? Is it to entertain the bored staff or the guests?||||The hotel is in a good location, opposite a big park and 400 metres from the big shopping mall, which appears to be the main benefit of this hotel.||||Advice: Okay place to stay for a night or few days. Do not over pay. Do not pay extra for the exec rooms, they are a con. See the rooms before you agree to stay. The Hotel pictures do not look like actual rooms, gym or pool. Do not waste time filling in the online check in, it still takes ages to check in, as the front desk staff are not organised or efficient. There are now many new hotels such as Novotel, IBIS, etc... in the area...
Read moreFor ten years I stay each August for 3-4weeks.|The only reason for the choice is location.||Most hotels use their computerised systems to "remember" guests and some semblance of customer service. Not this one.||For the same reasons of service being the route to market & destination most hotels have smiling warm (& Brazil is v good at hospitality)front of House staff. Not this hotel!||Each time I arrive after a long haul flight, having reserved & requested a view over the water for my long stay - each time this is messed up & I have to do one night elsewhere then move to a decent room!||The breakfast offer is almost identical daily- scrambled eggs & sliced sausage. I am so so so fed up with the unvarying buffet. I'm told I can pay extra for one option only- fried eggs!which take forever!||And over the ten years the decline is sad to see. The quality & range of food! The lack of niceties such as slippers etc. & the "remodelling" of the rooms which has turned a bedroom with separate sitting room with desk & kitchenette into a larger room with a bed and a desk dividing it from the sofa. So there is one tv instead of 2 now-& otherwise how does this benefit either the hotel or the customer?it doesn't create extra rooms. And the old-fashioned bathrooms remain- actually quite good with a spacious shower which is irritating only because you get wet & cold turning on the taps waiting for the wArm water to come.||Complacency seems to be at the heart of this hotel- it is home to the nearby internacional football team, and as it is the only proper hotel in zone sul it is probably mostly full because of location. Each year I give my appreciations( great view!) and complaints.....nothing changes except...
Read moreBreakfast was OK. The location is pretty good, across from a park and close to a shopping mall. My room had a decent size. Reception staff was always friendly and helpful. The view from the top floor is amazing. ||The fitness area is tiny and poorly equipped. Prices at the restaurant are too high. Wi-fi in my room was terrible the entire time, even though I alerted the staff. There were also problems with the temperature and the pressure of water in the bathroom. The housekeeping team was an absolute disaster. During the course of an entire week, they replaced bathroom items only once, and only after I asked for it twice. Every time I saw them, they were just standing in the corridors, maskless, chatting or using...
