Inn Pérola do Porto — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

Our stay at this lovely place was in October 2010 and we stayed for 9 fantastic days. Our son was 2 at the time and he still remembers some things of this trip!||This pousada had been recommended to us by a friend that used to stay there every summer, so we weren't really concerned about it, although sometimes things change very quickly with hotels! We arrived late at night and they even helped booking a transfer from the airport (prior to the arrival, of course). Great guy, by the way! If you need it, ask the Pousada, they'll hand out his contact. He also organizes tours of the area, like Praia dos Carneiros, which is a well spent day and not very expensive.||The pousada is very simple and clean, the rooms are spacious, clean, good air conditioning and the huge shower is great! The staff is super friendly and the breakfast, altough not having the variety you'd see in a resort or so, is simply delicious! The bread, the home made cakes, the natural juices, the local fruits, even the pot coffee were delicious, I guess simply because everything has that home-made feel you don't see very often.||The pool area is nice, the general environment is very friendly and relaxed. The only not positive thing is really not their fault, i.e., it is a bit distant from the centre of the village and walking around at night was a bit spooky sometimes, plus running around with the kid's stroller sometimes was quite a stretch. But it's ok it was a way to burn the excess calories...

The lodge is located in a good area of the beach and on walking distance from the center - around 10 minutes. ||Our suite was big, but it had very high steps that were almost a climb, which is ok for young people, but can be a problem for children and people with locomotion problems. ||The reception was awesome, except for one receptionist who unfortunately made our check-in - when we had an issue in the room it was fast resolved. ||In general, common areas and room were very clean, just the bathroom that wasn't very neat, but it was ok. We had a problem with a very dirty towel and some of the linen looked like it wasn't washed for weeks.||Breakfast was quite good, and pretty much fresh... It changed every day. Too bad the breakfast ladies were distracted and failed I. Replacing some things and offering what they cooked to order, but we figured it out and...

We had a fabulous time staying here. In total we stayed 4 nights and we really enjoyed our time here. The room was comfortable and basic but very clean and we had a safe which was very handy. Despite the language barrier, the staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was included and it was so lovely with delicious fruits, cakes, hot food and fruit juices each morning with lots of variety. The outdoor pool area was very nice with a great pool and lots of loungers. The beach was also very close by and less than a minute's walk away and the main town was 15 minute's walk away so not too far away and a pleasant walk if going there along the beach.
