As an American I had|Prepared with google translate and other resources for interpreting Portuguese; however to my delight, the receptionists were fluent in English and extremely helpful with any questions that I had. At one point, they even returned my credit card after I had accidentally left it in the restaurant.||That being said, make sure to get a supreme room and not the standard room. The standard room, though nice, was no bigger than a 8' by 8' feet. I had the opportunity to view bigger rooms and they were very nice.||At the restaurant, they only give a non priced menu to English speakers. If you ask for the Portuguese menu it has the prices on it. Don't let them fool you. The younger waiter is absolutely horrible. He will be nice but will not check on you at all. If there is a white guy serving you ... get up and leave. All of the other servers are superb.||The area is nice but DO NOT walk more than 5 blocks to the right out of the hotel fro t door, there is a wilder college town over there that seems more...
Read moreI didn't need a hotel bang in the centre of Sao Paulo, so I chose this one as it was walking distance from a train station. The price was less than half a comparable hotel in the centre of Sao Paulo and the hotel didn't disappoint at all. I had spent one night in a hotel in Repubblica having arrived late at night into GRU and found the area unsavoury and uncomfortable. The surroundings of this hotel are however very pleasant. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and the train journey into town is about 25 minutes. It is only 4 BR$ each way (1US$ or 80p) however as you don't pay anything to transfer from the train to the metro. The staff were excellent. All the front desk staff spoke English and were efficient and helpful. The rooms are large - there is a separate kitchen area (no crockery or cutlery though) and lounge area as well as bedroom and bathroom. My room had a balcony but with not much of a view. The pool area on the rooftop is pleasant and I had it to myself for most of the time. I did not eat there or...
Read moreMake sure you book a Superior room, which will come with a Kitchenette.Kitchenette does not have any utensils, plates, or bowls. So you will have to ask for them at the desk when needed. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was on the small side, but adequate, with the a shower. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Not everyone on the hotel staff speaks English but was always courteous. A Pharmacy close by. A bakery, convenience store is only 1 block away. Breakfast buffet was of normal fare. One suggestion would be to vary the hot portion of the meal. Restaurant attached to the hotel was very good. I had a room facing the street. Road noise was an issue sleeping. If I stay here on my next visit, I will request a room in the back. Air condition malfunctioned on my last day there and the staff quickly jumped on the issues and got the situation resolved. Overall a pleasant place to stay and only a few blocks from where I needed to...
