We loved this quaint character laden hotel with its lovely flowers out the front. It’s family run and is situated in the heart of beautiful Koprivshtitsa which is well worth seeing – charming cobblestone laneways and pretty houses with horse and carts in the main street and lots of history.||||We were there as part of a cycling tour and there was some confusion in the room allocation. We were travelling as a couple and ended up in a room that we later discovered (after we’d unpacked) was supposed to be a single room so we only had one towel, one duvet etc. When we asked for an extra of each, the owner was a bit annoyed with us (in the manner: ‘well what did you expect in a single room’), but it was soon sorted out.||||We loved the bathroom which would normally have been nothing special, but many hotel rooms in Bulgaria have the shower in the middle of the bathroom with no shower curtain. So it was a relief to have a separate shower area and avoid getting everything drenched.||||As we were in a group, we had a set dinner menu which consisted of an enormous sausage and lots of the usual Bulgarian salads and vegetables. It was clean and comfortable with friendly owners and well situated in this...
Read moreWe visited Koprivshtitsa in the beginning of April and decided to stay at the Gozbarov guest house. We love the beautiful and quiet town, we will definitely return to it and I can assure everyone that we will stay at the same place. The house is situated five to ten minutes away from the museums and all other attractions. That's an old place built back in 1832 and it perfectly fits into the town's historical architecture while at the same time without being luxurious it provides everything a tourist may ask for, including a good-quality restaurant. There was a celebration the same night we stayed there but the music was turned down at 11:00 pm, so we could rest well. It's an excellent choice for either a weekend or an extended stay in...
Read moreWe arrived for kapeishtiza festival. The good: The location is great. Quiet, close to the centre, and with a charming yard. We too full board and the food was excellent, generous, and adapted to every person needs. The waiter did not know a word in English, but he was pleasant and attentive The room was clean.
The bad - we got a room under the roof: The room was under the roof and you had to bend down completely to get into the bed. There was no closet. No place to put our clothes. There was no window, only a skylight. Forget about a view.
It is worth visiting if you can get one of the good rooms. Make sure you don’t get a...
