First impressions were good. The apartment was very clean, smelt lovely and everything looked almost new. The general vicinity was also clean and fresh smelling. The apartment contained everything we needed. Didn’t use the kitchen other than the fridge/freezer which was 80/20 size but it included everything you would need to make simple meals with hob, toaster, kettle and microwave. Washing machine was a welcome addition. Bed although large was on the firm side. But otherwise we were very impressed with the quality of the apartment.|Our main issue was that it was just too far out from all the action. At least a 20+ min walk to flower street/main strip on a not so pleasant journey to be honest as pavements are missing in parts, some areas have poor lighting at night and overall didn’t feel completely safe. We had read reviews and looked on google maps prior to booking and were well aware of the location but in reality it was not as straight forward as it seems. Roads are also very busy and need to have eyes in the back of your head. Also comfortable shoes are a must due to the amount of walking and state of the pavements …there is a shortcut through a rocky carpark. Taxi cost us equivalent of £10 to flower street one way.|Some not so great things were that not all facilities were available. We went 1st week of June and lead to believe that the season had already started yet there was only 2 of the 3 pools available, pool bar not open and restaurant barely up and running which was quite disappointing. We came prepared expecting to spend £££ on drinks and food throughout the week but only ended up having 1 breakfast and 1 evening meal at the restaurant which was nothing to write home about. Quite disappointed with the general cleanliness of the outdoor seating as I don’t think they have been cleaned out since being shut down for the winter as lots of bugs and spiders everywhere and bird mess that clearly had not been cleared away prior to reopening and tables not clean and cushions felt grubby and put us off returning.|Other thing worth mentioning is that the pools are very shallow and mainly only good for a quick dip to cool off. The pool area near building 15 wasn’t the best with lots of bugs and bits around the poolside and in the pool, not sure if the skimmer was working properly and if the pool actually got cleaned as never seen this during our stay….that’s not to say it’s not done, just something we never witnessed. Also be prepared and bring extra towels to cover the sunbeds as they are black and attract the sun and could result in burns with how hot they get…untouchable in 28-35 degree heat so can only imagine how hot they get in the height of summer! Had to buy an extra towel whilst out there as couldn’t touch the bottom of the bed with my legs and feet as it was so hot. I have noticed that a lot of places in SB seem to have dark sunloungers for some reason and can’t understand why they wouldn’t opt for white/pale ones with the heat like in other countries such as SpainTurkey etc. Pool was fairly quiet, no music but would have been nice to have some but I think the pool bar plays this from what we have read? Did get busier as the week went on and some days no sunbeds.|Also be prepared to cross a rocky path to get from one side of the resort to the other…not disabled friendly and a nightmare with cases when departing early in the morning. Also when we first arrived the grass was very overgrown and the area looked really scruffy…was cut during our stay which I thought was a bit odd and can’t understand why this couldn’t be done before reopening? Kind of felt like everything was a bit rushed to get sorted and not a very nice experience listening to industrial mowers and strimmers and smelling petrol for several days whilst around the pool.|Overall, we did have a good week here and as previously mentioned, we can’t really fault the actual apartment itself however unlikely to return due to the location….if this was on main strip we would contemplate staying again if we returned to SB. Don’t want to be too negative but trying to be honest. There were AI pics of a new build by Harmony which looks amazing and would consider this if we ever retuned to SB if it’s nearer to the centre.|Worth mentioning that there is a cafe on the corner of the street outside called Valencia that we ate at most mornings, very cheap and decent breakfast - cost us 9.50lev for a ‘full English’ compared to 17lev on flower street/nearer centre of SB. Small supermarket also next door was very handy especially for drinks but staff are rude..pay by card there if you can as easier.|Also bring bug repellent as there are mozzies, midges, spiders and ants everywhere! Not just at Harmony but literally everywhere in SB…got bitten many times, some corkers, despite wearing the Avon skin so soft that I and others swear by! Never experienced anything like it but not sure if this is normal...
Read moreWe booked a short stay here. The location is under a 10 min walk from the beach and shops, which is ideal as you have the best of both worlds - quiet while at hotel and a small walk to lively and beautiful sunny beach. The reception staff were very polite and helpful and spoke great English. There is a car park across the way, which we left our car in and was completely safe. The rooms are massive. We had 2 rooms, both with double beds and enough cupboards for clothing etc and a lounge area with a small kitchen, this has a sofa bed that pulls out to a double. Easy to sleep 5/6 people in. A nice big balcony too. Very modern fixtures and fittings. The bathroom houses a shower, toilet sink and washing machine (brilliant) nice and roomy too with large mirrors on the wall. There is air con & a tv in all 3 rooms. Plenty of sheets and pillows for all 3 beds. It also has an iron and iron board! We did have a couple of small faults though, however it didn’t ruin our stay and I am only mentioning it for the review, the kitchen area has a microwave, toaster, kettle, small hob, fridge and sink. In the cupboards are plenty of drinking glasses, plates, cups and cutlery but there is nothing to use to cook with so you couldn’t make anything using the hob. This didn’t matter to us as I wasn’t coming away to cook, but I know some families need this. It also wasn’t cleaned fully. We found cigarette filters under the sofa and tv cabinet, there were deflated balloons behind the lounge tv and the floor had lots of black sand type dust on it. We needed to move the coffee table and rug to pull out the soda bed and you could tell that these are not lifted to clean under after a guest has left. This got me checking under other things, like bedside cabinets and again lots of dust and dirt from a build up of time. Please note this did not ruin our holiday. I just cleaned it up and it was done. The mention is only for the review. There is 3 pool areas and they are lovely and clean. Ample of loungers and day beds. The best part is you will receive a 100 lv fine if you hold a lounger with your towel and leave it there all day without sitting there. This is an excellent idea because everyone gets a chance to use a lounger and when your leaving the pool areas you take your belongings with you (obviously not if your popping away for just a short time) we went and sat at the bar for a drink and returned to our loungers but if your not going to sit there for hours you should take your belongings. There is a gym too but we didn’t use it or go and see it, so I cannot comment on it. I would most definitely come and...
Read moreHad a fantastic time here. One bed apartment was great for us (family of 3) and no issues over changes of linen or loo rolls others have mentioned. We booked a package with Balkans so not sure if that made a difference.|Some key things to note if you’re looking:||Security is excellent. Always a security guard on duty and a receptionist. So secure many people just left their pushchairs outside their apartment or in the lobby. ||Rooms: aircon was lovely and very quiet but it is just in the main living area. Bedroom had a fan which was great and again very quiet. There’s a 2 ring induction hob, toaster, microwave, kettle, large fridge freezer, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, airer and a washing machine. We were also supplied with mini shampoos etc which lasted us the fortnight. There’s no tea towel or washing up equipment though, but we bought it very cheaply at the local supermarket. Cutlery was hygiene wrapped on arrival so we knew it was all clean. Balcony only has 2 chairs and is quite small though. Doors & windows are all double glazed so no outdoor noise once they are closed. |Things to note - there is a small step up into the room, one into the bathroom and another up & over to access the balcony.||Facilities: pools are immaculate, there are 4 immediately on site, and you can access others at the other harmony resorts if you want to. One pool is a splash pad type so ideal for young children. Plenty sun beds and no towel wars. Pools have steps but no railing if you’re unsteady on your feet. There’s also a huge shady area with beanbags. Ideal for napping out of the sun!|Poolside bar is lovely with some shady seating but doesn’t do snacks. The poolside restaurant is open all day from breakfast and is good value. Not as cheap as in resort but very high quality food. |Also a grassy area park whichis well sighted from both the pool and bar so you can be eyes on while you relax and your kids play.||Location: supermarket 5 mins, beach 15 mins, bars / restaurants 10mins, Flower...
