Spent first 2 weeks of Sept here and would have been happy to stay longer. Arrived at 2AM and check in was friendly and speedy, the receptionist gave us the info we needed regarding breakfast times etc.||The room was exactly what we had requested when booking and was very clean with everything in working order. The carpet had marks from luggage wheels and this could be easily sorted with a carpet shampoo machine. The bathroom was large, clean and had a power shower and pretty good hairdryer. Housekeeping were in every day doing a good job and were friendly and chatty. Clean towels every day if wanted, linen change every three days.||Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is a large pleasant room and was never crowded during our stay. We really enjoyed the food and were impressed by the constant topping up throughout service. Staff in the restaurant were very helpful and they greeted you with a smile every morning, they worked hard keeping everything clean and tidy.||The rooftop pool and bar area was never crowded while we were there although we didn't use the pool ourselves ,just went up most days for a cold drink and the great views. Maria who works there made us feel so welcome and took good care of us giving us lots of advice on the locality.||The cafe / bar on the ground floor is a lovely area with very good coffee and reasonable drink prices for a hotel. The staff will serve you when they feel they can't avoid it any longer, but don't expect any kind of interaction. At closing time they suddenly work at the speed of light. Don't let this put you off , all other staff were great at making you feel welcome , especially those on reception.||We have been visiting Bulgaria for the last 18 years ,usually twice a year in June and Sept. We have booked the Marieta Palace for next Sept and look...
Read moreMarieta Palace was ok for our one week stay, pretty much what you would expect within this pricerange. ||Location is good in the middle of New Town Nessebar. Walk to the Old Town takes about 20 mins. Just around the upper corner of the hotel there is a shoppingstreet and at the end of the street (towards Han Krum-mainstreet) you'll find some nice restaurants. ||Our room was double stantard, and it was quite good. Although Booking.com told there is a tile/marble floor, we had old carpet...but not too big of a problem for us. ||||The pool area was lovely and not crowded at all during our stay, even this was high season. As others have also mentioned, the breakfast was cold/lukewarm..and by the end of the week we skipped it a couple of times, as the cold eggs and sausage just did'nt feel tempting anymore. Also one morning the guy at the restaurant door marked our breakfast cards already for the next day also. When I asked why he did that, he just said "no problem, no problem". Well, did not want any problems, so I asked new cards from the reception. And all the ladies in the reception were nice.||The same can not be said about the barstaff..the young lady working there did not seem to be too excited about her job, and we had to wait really long time before being noticed at all.||Luckily, the Nessebar and Sunny beach area is full of bars. ;D ||||If you are looking for a nice and clean basic hotel to stay, then this is a...
Read moreStayed 1st 2 weeks in September, large room with large balcony, but carpet and upholstery were filthy, some wallpaper starting to peel off walls. Grout missing from some tiles in shower, caused soaking bedroom carpet, through the wall from shower enclosure. Towels changed daily, but bedding changed just 4 times. Staff nice, main entrance to hotel lovely, except for damp patch on ceiling witch we reckoned was from our leaky shower. Overall the room was in desperate need of an upgrade, breakfast adequate, pool area lovely but pool freezing. Great location, enjoyed having the odd game of pool in the games bar. So called "Luxury laundry service" clearly stated 5kg of laundry washed, ironed and returned for 15 Leva. My husband sent 5kg of shirts to be laundered. We returned that night to find wet shirts on the balcony. My husband complained and was told it would be extra to have them ironed, completely contrary to the laundry sheet. Nessebar shops amazing, especially loved the Old town where we walked daily. We will return to Nessebar but definitely not this hotel, and definitely not Balkan Holidays. Hotel rep was rude and useless. At welcome meeting we were asked "What do you want to know" As it was our 1st visit to Nessebar and Bulgaria this was not what we...
