When entering the hotel reception on arrival, my immediate impression was the off-putting smell of cigarette smoke, despite there being no smoking signs in the lobby. Check-in was quick and efficient. However, the rooms are best described as dated. WIth dark furniture, carpet and wall coverings, they look straight out of the 1980s. The room was clean however I did have some issues with it. Getting the curtains on the room closed was difficult which ended in me pulling part of it off the rail. Also the shower head in the bathroom was broken. There was also obviously damaged trim on the bathroom door. I reported the curtain and shower head needing replaced in the morning and were corrected by the time I returned in the evening. Although the trim had not been attended to. I have choosed this hotel because of location. Hotel itself is good, rooms are spacey and clean. They are a bit slow with breakfast (served breakfast) and breakfast is a bit poor.|What they should definetly improve is service! For example when I arrived, I wanted to go for a dinner in a local restaurant nearby, since it was raining I have asked umbrella to borrow. But apparently they have only one umbrella! You have 20 rooms, can you invest in 10 umbrellas?|What I also disliked, they have coffee machine in the room but they charge for it additionally! When I asked where is that written, they said it is in mini bar pricelist! Come on it is hard to put notice near the machine ?!||Comparing the price/value, in general for 10-20€ more per night, you can get much better...

I reserved this hotel for one night and when we arrived (evening and pouring rain) the reservation was cancelled. The receptionist would not or could not tell us who had cancelled it and was not willing to help. She was apologetic and friendly, but wouldnt do anything. Finally she got the manager on the phone, who was unwilling to find a solution and kept trying to steer me off the topic. Very frustrating. The agency we had booked the hotel with , found us another last minute hotel for the night, since we had nowhere to stay. This behaviour from the hotels manager and receptionist is completely unacceptable and I certainly cannot recommend this place. There are plenty of other nice hotels in Sofia....
