Boyana Residency — Attraction in Sofia City

I have fond memories of the National Museum, one can easily spend a good half a day here. It is, in fact, the largest Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria. Please do take an audio guide if you are not a local or do not speak the local language. The museum is a good presentation of the cultural history of Bulgaria. It also gives you an open view of Bulgaria's religious journey. Some of the recently added fossils make for an interesting story, it does host half a dozen treasure findings. The Russian MI8 helicopter right outside the museum gives a very rustic vibe the whole place. There is a huge earring in the Museum, do not miss to check it out. The museum also has a cafe for short eats. You can while away some time at the library and picks some souvenir and the souvenir shop. Nothing fancy though. While you are at the Museum please also soak in the fact the where is stand is a former house to the last communist leader of Bulgaria. The only drawback that I recall is that it is not in the centre of the city and getting to the museum is not straightforward.

Overall, it is a good experience to have in Bulgaria, I would not classify it as a must-go place, but if History is what gives you the kicks,...

La résidence "Boyana" est un complexe architectural et un parc servant de résidence officielle au président , au vice-président et au gouvernement de la République de Bulgarie .

Il est situé dans la capitale Sofia , dans le quartier « Boyana » , d'où il tire son nom. La zone, d'une superficie d'environ 60 hectares, est sous protection de l'État, avec un accès limité et contrôlé pour les étrangers.

La résidence est située à 10 kilomètres au sud du centre de Sofia. Le quartier est bordé par les rues suivantes (dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre en partant du nord) : Ring Road , st. "Daskal Stoyan Popandreev", boul. Rues "Alexandre Pouchkine", "Siméon Radev", "Gabrovnitsa", "Vitoshko Lale".

Maison n°1 – le bâtiment le plus représentatif, ancienne résidence du Conseil d'État, abrite le Musée national d'histoire depuis 1998 ;

Maison n°2 – résidence actuelle du président et complexe résidentiel-hôtelier au service de l'administration de l'État ;

maisons n ° 3 ÷ 8 – villas et bâtiments auxiliaires desservant les institutions bulgares supérieures.

Un certain nombre d'invités de haut rang, de délégations d'État et de gouvernement ont séjourné dans la résidence. Afin d'alléger le coût de la vie, le complexe propose actuellement un hébergement dans la partie hôtelière aux clients individuels et aux groupes organisés. Il dispose d'un centre de conférence composé de salles de différentes tailles, dont la plus grande compte 150 places.
