We travelled to Sofia, Bulgaria in October 2017. We booked 2 double-standard rooms, via booking.com, as we were travelling with another couple. The price for each room, was 42 euros.(this was the price written in booking.com for the standard double room, and 42 euros was the final price written in our receipt when we made the reservation-).,It s important to note that, each couple travelled with 1 child (each) which was 8 years old.So, it was crystal clear in the receipt-4 adults and 2 kids in the age of 8 years old.-2 standard double rooms-overall price 42 euros. The policy of this hotel, based in what s written on the hotel s advertisement in booking.com is, the following;¨"Free! One child under 12 years stays free of charge when using existing beds". I want to point out again that , the age of our daughters was written in the reservation, and you will understand why i m still coming back to that again and again..||When we arrived, we wanted to settle our bill in order to rest because of our long trip (travelled from Greece, 5 hours on the road with 2 exhausted kids)..Then it all began.....The receptionist asked for extra 10 euros because of our kids staying, and insisted that the 52 euros he wanted to charge each couple for each room was because of the kids staying in the room.He also said that "obviously, his colleaque who made the reservation made a mistake and told him that the kids were 3 years old, not 8.He also said that the hotel should ensure an additional bed for each kid in each room, that "unfortunately wasn t possible at the moment, because the person who was in charge of this "facility" was not there. As anybody can see, there are 2 basic problems here. First of all, the receptionist gave us a completely different version of what s in effect for the children s accomodation in the hotel.Secondly, they charged extra beds without providing them because "unfortunately, the person in charge had finished his shift".We argued with him for a while telling him that they cannot charge any facility without providing it, and his answer was "that s the policy! When we informed the receptionist that we want to talk to his supervisor he said that "it s too late" (it was 10 o clock in the evening).||Above all that, they arranged 2 rooms that were in different floors,(ours at 4rth, our friends at 3rd), despite the fact that we booked both rooms together. The whole place in the 4rth floor smelled like mould,,so was our room .The blanket of our bed was full of white stains (i don t even want to imagine what these stains were),the carpet seemed like it had not been cleaned for a long time.We were covered with our coats in order to keep ourselves warm at night, because the room was so filthy, that we didn t want to touch anything which was in it.(not to mention the blanket with the white stains, AGAIN).||Finally, i want to note that we made an official statement to booking.com for all the above, but basically for the extra charge and theIR denial to provide the service.(additional bed). Basically, this hotel is lying about the policy regarding the children s accomodation, and they ask for extra money for services that shouldn t exist. We didn t ask for extra beds for the children, not until the time they said that we have to pay 10 more euros for the children, and they have to provide extra beds. That s a whole different policy from the one that is written in booking.com.||My advice?stay away from this hotel. They lie, they cheat, they are not willing to help at anything.Where is the supervisor?who runs this shιtty hotel?Above the horrible service and their behaviour, the hotel is filthy, it smells and it gives the impression that it s fully abandoned.NEVER , NEVER AGAIN.||Finally, i want to say that i "promised" the receptionist that i will write about their behaviour and i will make an official statement for the way they treat their guests. Well, my friend, if you re reading this, or if your supervisor is doing so,please make your future clients a favour and shut the place down. You do not know the least about how to run a hotel, how to provide the adequate services and to have the ,least of respect for...
Read moreWe were on Vacation in Bulgaria and due to an Idiot in a Merc Van, we sustained damage to our Car. A friend suggested the Brod Hotel as it was just far enough from the City Centre and close to the Dealer repairing our Car. We ended up staying 40 nights (not by choice, but, awaiting parts). || That said, the Staff of the Hotel could not have been more kind and helpful. Unfortunately during our stay the Hotel Restaurant was closed for renovation, so I cannot comment. This was reflected in Breakfast, which was basic Continental. ||The Room was 101, and was a Suite. Spacious and comfortable. Cleaned and changed every day. We were renewing our stay week to week as waiting for the parts for our Car, and the Manageress Plumina was very kind to review the price reflecting on our length of stay week on week. She seemed to take pity on us as the situation was not self inflicted.|| The Hotel is very much a "Business" Hotel, that said, its close to Studentskigrad which is a vibrant part of Sofia and offers many Bars, Restaurants and Clubs. The Hotel is close to the City Zoo and main Bus route into the City for 1 Lev. Taxi service in Sofia is very reasonably priced and very efficient, you can download very good APPs for O.K. Taxis and 9119 Taxis. 6-8leva will take...
Read moreThe is definitely NOT hotel! More like lodging house with super rude receptionist who doesn’t speak English. We paid for twin non smoking room but after not even 10 minutes in room we decided to find another hotel, because smell of cigarettes everywhere was absolutely unbelievable! The “hotel” is non smoking! When I explain to receptionist that we need to cancel she just snap at me to cancel it in Bulgarian language. When I have asked for manager I didn’t get any answer or even manager….so I called booking as I book this horrible hotel through them if they can help me to sort it out.
I was told that in two days (by that horrible receptionist) I will have my money on my account. That has happened on Saturday. I have contacted the hotel on Tuesday and asked if they can explain why I still didn’t received the payment back. Another rude answer - call your bank, call booking we have send it! Today is Wednesday and I still haven’t received anything.
The area where the “hotel” is doesn’t look good and seems a bit dodgy. In fact it’s far from central Sofia and it is expensive! We paid £88 for 2 nights but later found much better hotel for only £80 and just 5 min walk from central Sofia.
The “hotel” doesn’t seem NOTHING like on photos! Be...
