Xian Wei Hot Pot (Malatang) Restaurant — Restaurant in Sofia City

After all the posts and wonderful comments we saw, my boyfriend and I had to try this place. It is definitely worth it! The food is top quality. The portion size is pretty big to the point where I struggled to finish it. You get a very good selection of toppings. We tried the spicy and the tomato broth, and I am pleasantly surprised that the spicy one was actually spicy. The staff even warned me it was spicy. 😅 The broths were thick and full of flavour, not like the watered-down broths in some places. There is plenty of space between the tables, so you can actually talk without bothering other people. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. We even saw them giving recommendations to people who needed some guidance on what to combine. The only thing I kind of didn't like, but it does not affect my feedback, is the bubble tea. It was a bit too sweet, the boba was a bit mushy, and it is only cold, but it is a hot pot place, so I shouldn't have had high expectations. I really recommend trying...

We went for my sister's birthday and it was such a fun and different experience. The atmosphere was pretty calm, not like some places the blast music all day it was nice to stay there (we stayed around for 2 hours) Now for the food. It was delicious and cheap on top of that. 45 lv for two big portions of food and plus 3 drinks. The taste of the meal was amazing, everything was fresh and we got to try some new foods we haven't seen at all. Just one thing...if you can't handle spice, please don't get the 2x spicy. We got it, and IT WAS SPICY 😭 (but still good). For alternatives, I will suggest the 1x spice or the tomato base. Besides the noodle dish, there are also some side dishes, which I haven't tried, but to me, they look pretty good. I will say the customer service was amazing. For someone who is pretty awkward, there isn't that much talking. Just get your food, sit down, eat, and go. Now, do i recommend this place? 100% It's something new and fun to try and cheap, which in this economy...

I’ve visited Xian Wei Hot Pot Restaurant twice in person and ordered takeout once — and every time I’ve been very satisfied. The place is clean and pleasant, the service is fast and extremely friendly, and the food is delicious and well-prepared.

I’ve tried their bone broth twice at the restaurant — it’s rich and flavorful. Many people say it’s spicy, but for me, it was just pleasantly piquant, not too hot. For takeout, I ordered the hot pot with tomato broth — it was a bit sweet for my taste, so next time I’ll go back to the bone broth.
